i've got two:

1)learning to fly (pink floyd): song is about gilmour concurring his fear of flying by getting his pilots license. gibberish in the middle is actually a recording of his conversation with air traffic control. probably my inspiration to get a pilots license.

2) i believe i can fly (r kelly?): great song from a great movie, space jam.

There's classics like Amazing Grace and Lean On Me, but the one that hits me the most is Here Comes The Sun.

Kid Rock - American Bad Ass
Disturbed - Just Stop

Those are all I need.

You could throw in Eminem - Criminal as well

I'm thinking this is about "uplifting" songs, right? I mean, The Beatles' Helter Skelter and Public Enemy's Fight The Power are certainly inspirational songs to me, but what they incite me to do is a different story. The closest I've ever seen to music flat-out inspiring a riot, inspiring a bunch of kids to beat the shit out of everyone in the city afterwards, is with Front 242 in concert.

Not neccessarily 'inspiration', but more getting pumped up style:

House of the Rising Sun - Animals

Star Spangled Banner - Any decent version(especially Hendrix) - Makes me think of being on the field before a football game

Mad World - Evergreen Terrace - no idea why, just does

Seminole War Chant(Tomahawk Chop) - Florida State Marching Band

Shout at the Devil - Motley Crue

Freak on a Leash - Korn

The whole "Bleach" album by Nirvana inspires me to start throwing shit, in a good way.

By far their worst album although the first 7 songs are sweet.

And yes, Nirvana wants to make me throw shit sometimes too.

Well that "worst album" is better than 99.9% of the shit coming out these days, IMO.

Add in that it was recorded in a garage for $600 and I think it's amazing.

"About a Girl" is a fantastic song.

I'd have to say that "You're the Best" song from the Karate Kid has to be #1....right?

I want you to sweep the leg...

BUT SENSEI....I CAN BEAT THIS GUY!

Do you have a problem with that, Mr. Lawrence?

LMAO.

Honestly I've got to go with Eye of the Tiger by Survivor from Rocky III. I run right to the bench right after every time I watch it. I gotta admit some of the 80's hair band rock from Rocky IV gets me fired up too. "Burning Heart", "Hearts on Fire". Yeeeeeah boooyee!

'Till I Collapse by Eminem gets me jacked too. Oh yeah...and Welcome 2 Detroit by Trick Trick featuring Eminem.

STRIKE FIRST! STRIKE HARD!! NO MERCY SIR!!!

Seriously, it's not even the best inspirational music by the composer, Bill Conti. That'd be the theme from Rocky!

whitney houston- i wanna dance with somebody

WTF!?!?!

Edit:

I'd like to close my eyes, go numb
but there's a cold wind coming from
the top of the highest high-rise today.
It's not a breeze 'cause it blows hard.
Yes and it wants me to discard the humanity I know,
watch the warmth blow away.

So don't let the world bring you down.
Not everyone here is that fucked up and cold.
Remember why you came and while you're alive
experience the warmth before you grow old.

So do you think I should adhere to that pressing new frontier?
And leave in my wake a trail of fear?
Or should I hold my head up high
and throw a wrench in spokes by
leaving the air behind me clear?

So don't let the world bring you down.
Not everyone here is that fucked up and cold.
Remember why you came and while you're alive
experience the warmth before you go.

So don't let the world bring you down.
Not everyone here is that fucked up and cold.
Remember why you came and while you're alive
experience the warmth before you grow old.

Before you grow old.
Where did it go?
Where did it go?
Where did it go?
Where did it go?

Yeah, their old drummer sucked. If David Grohl did a song like paper cuts, it would have been a lot sweeter.

Slayer Postmortem/Raining Blood.

The two greatest back-to-back metal songs in history. Don't even try to think of anything better, because it's unpossible.

If you haven't heard them both, do yourself a favor, seriously.

OK. We need to change the name of the thread, or split this shit, or something.

This should be most inspirational = inspires you to grow/move on/etc.

There should be another thread for workout songs or something.

PS:

Sometimes, I feel the fear of uncertainty stinging clear
And I can't help but ask myself how much
I'll let the fear take the wheel and steer.
It's driven me before, and it seems to have a vague,
haunting mass appeal.
But lately I'm beginning to find that I
should be the one behind the wheel.

Whatever tomorrow brings,
I'll be there with open arms and open eyes, Yeah
Whatever tomorrow brings, I'll be there..I'll be there.

So, if I decide to waiver my chance to be one of the hive
Will I choose water over wine and hold my own and drive?
Aah-ah-oo-o-o.

It's driven me before and it seems to be the way
that everyone else gets around.
But lately I'm beginning to find that when
I drive myself my light is found.

Whatever tomorrow brings,
I'll be there with open arms and open eyes, Yeahhh
Whatever tomorrow brings, I'll be there...I'll be there.

Would you choose water over wine....hold the wheel and drive?

Whatever tomorrow brings,
I'll be there with open arms and open eyes, Yeah
Whatever tomorrow brings, I'll be there..I'll be there.
