Starbucks Denies Coffee to Marines !!

Recently Marines in Iraq wrote to Starbucks because they wanted to let
them know how much they liked their coffee and to request that they send
some of it to the troops there. Starbucks replied, telling the Marines
thank you for their support of their business, but that Starbucks does
not support the war, nor anyone in it, and that they would not send the
troops their brand of coffee.

So as not to offend Starbucks, maybe we should not support them by
buying any of their products!

As a war vet writing to fellow patriots, I feel we should get this out
in the open. I know this war might not be very popular with some folks,
but that doesn't mean we don't support the boys on the ground fighting
street-to-street and house-to-house for what they and I
believe is right.

If you feel the same as I do then pass this along, or you can discard it
and no one will never know.

Thanks very much for your support. I know you'll all be there again when
I deploy once more.

I highly, highly doubt that any representative of Starbucks would state, or be allowed to state that "Starbucks does not support the war, nor anyone in it".

This sounds über fishy to me.

(I'm now likely to be cast by our administration as a sympathizer since I have questioned the integrity of Sgt. Wright, lol)

Maybe...I just got it from one of my buddies that is overseas right now. He wanted me to pass it along...so I figured I would.

It's false.

False email about Starbucks refusing to support the troops

Contact 16 has been getting several emails in regards to Starbucks Corporation's support of our troops.

The e-mails claim a group of Marines in Iraq wrote to Starbucks requesting free coffee for the troops. The reply from Starbucks supposedly refused the donation, saying "Starbucks does not support the war, or anyone in it."

Contact 16 did a little research, and it turns out this letter is part of a chain that has been running email circles for the last year. The email is in fact real, but was sent by a mis-informed officer who has since apologized.

Technically, Starbucks Corporate policy does not allow them to donate to the troops. However, Starbucks officials say employees have donated countless pounds of coffee to the troops through a program that gives employees a pound of free coffee each week to do with what they wish. In this case, that means sending our troops a little brew.

I figured it was BS because Starbucks is working on a deal with AFES and has products within the PX's, plus they were one of the first companies to throw there name into the liberation commerce game. I a not sure but Bagdad may already have a Starbucks, to go with their Subway and KFC.

Get this fucking garbage the fuck outta here!

Careful with chain mail Muhme, 9 times out of ten it's horseshit. That shit was
hilarious though. That said, I'm going to go home, shower, get dressed and grab
a latte before I go out to support WTFDetroit.com. Starbucks sends .00018 %
of it's proceeds directly to the "Preview Post" button on WTFD.
