View Full Version : The Trade Idea thread
Cross 06-04-2006, 12:56 AM No NBA board is complete without some bullshit or good trade ideas.
one of the warrior's posters in scout came up with this idea.
J Rich Foyle and Ellis or their 2007
for
Hamilton Dale Davis and our pick in 07, not Orlando.
I know this doesnt work under the cap but some adjustments couldbe made. J Rich provides an instant offense type of guy. He drives it hard and is from MSU. Foyle could provide some backup for Ben, if he doesnt leave and Elli is a quick young combo guard Flip could rely on for the Bench with Dice.
Theres been some rumors about Ben for Charlie Viluenaeveasvsavsa and their #1?
Kstat 06-04-2006, 02:00 AM Warriors would never do this, and neither would Dumars. Ellis is their PG of the future and JRich sells what few tickets they can get rid of.
Heck, you'll have an easier time asking for Baron Davis instead of Miles.
Not to mention, I pity the GM stupid enough to take Foyle's contract.
Anthony 06-04-2006, 10:51 AM Mo Evans for anyone who knows how to play a lick of defense
Rasheed and Mo Evans (they love him in Sac)
-for-
SAR and Bonzi
Then, sign Marcus Banks with the MLE
PG- Billups / Banks / Lindsey or Delk
SG- Rip / Delfino / Bonzi
SF- Prince / Bonzi / Delfino
PF- Reef / Dice / Max
C- Ben / Dale
Kings do it because Sheed is exactly the guy they need if they face San Antonio again and the like Mo there.
We do it because Bonzi would complete our bench giving us that slasher we need. And Shareef is willing and able to score in the paint.
Kstat 06-06-2006, 02:43 AM Can't be done. Bonzi is a FA.
Cross 06-06-2006, 03:11 AM Couldnt a S&T be done?
Im not sure if Sac is willing to take Mo again after letting him walk again.

Like crossyouup said, Sign and Trade? I wasn't sure if you're allowed to package other players (SAR) in the deal, but I figured I'd post anyways.

Not with other players involved, no.
b-diddy 06-06-2006, 04:11 PM i posted this in the fix this team thread:
sheed + other assets (picks, young guys--any guy works outside of our big 6)
to GSW for diogu, pietrus, and derek fischer (foyle also works as a replacement for fischer, and makes it way more likely GSW would accept).
can't remember which thread it was, but someone mentioned trading for Pau Gasol. Memphis has a defensive oriented squad and Fratello might like to have Ben anchoring that team.
we get one of the few true post up talents in the NBA.

I don't think GS does that deal.
One of the prominent rumors in Sacramento is they are shopping Brad Miller to get a player who can play PF/C but has less years left on his deal. I am not sure how willing Sac would be to take Sheed but maybe we could trade Sheed and DD for Kenny Thomas and Brad Miller. Logic being it gives us two post players who play hard and are veterans for guys that guys still allow Sac to be contenders but have shorter deals.
If not Sheed Maybe Ben to Sactown for the same deal with DD. Or instead of KT maybe we could get Wells and throw in Mo and a second to the deal if Wells would be willing to take KT type money. Then we could use the MLE if it would be enough to land James. James might be reluctant to come off the bench but maybe if we gave him the Dice Role meaning he is used at both 1 and 2, Wells at three and Dice and a reserve at 4-5 he would be willing because it is like being the 6th starter. Then depending on if we got Wells or KT use the BAE to land either an extra Big or SG/SF.
Kstat 06-06-2006, 11:17 PM Brad Miller=sheed with less range and no defense.
I'm not sure if there's a softer center in the NBA. I'll take a hundred Sheeds before one Brad Miller.
Bonzi in a reserve role is fine.
I would become a Hawks fan and/or kill myself if Brad Miller was brought here. The guy sucks. He is the Anti-Piston.
I don't disagree that Miller lacks defensive toughness but he brings consistent offense and a post presence which we lack at the PF/C spot. Plus you need to think about Joe's vision and the team's problem which is the need to be more offensive. If Shaq is going to treat a C like a rag doll either way at least maybe we can make shaq have to defend and get 15ppg out of the starting C spot.
I know Brad Miller isn't a God but if you really had the choice like in my deal of Wells, Miller and maybe James or Ben or Sheed with DD and the hope getting Bonzi for the MLE which group would you want to add to the core?
If Ben decides he wants out....
Ben Wallace -----for----- Earl Watson, Danny Fortson, and Johan Petro
Why?: We get a sure-thing backing up Chauncey. A tough defender, good shooter, high-energy guy. A tough inside presence on both ends in Fortson. Scrappy paint scorer. Not afraid to knock a Wade/Lebron flat on their ass. And a legit 7-0 / 250lb Center prospect in Petro who has future starter written all over him.
Lineup:
PG- Billups / Watson
SG- Rip / Delfino
SF- Prince / Delfino / Amir
PF- Dice (20mpg) / Fortson / Max (Sheed also gets time here)
C- Sheed / Petro / Dale
That would also leave us with the MLE to spend on a scoring SG/SF if that's what we're looking for.
I don't know.... It's 2:30am here, I'm tired...
WTFchris 06-07-2006, 07:26 AM I like Brad Miller, but he's not what we need. Miller is the perfect compliment to a post PF (like Brand). We need a post PF.
Uncle Mxy 06-07-2006, 07:39 AM Brad Miller can't hold up through an 82-game season well, never mind the playoffs. Miller's injuries were why Jerome "Foul>Rebound" James looked good.
isn't Brad Miller's game pretty much outside jumpers anyways, something we're trying to avoid? the only redeeming thing about Miller's game seems to be that he's a great passer, but that could be a function of the King's offense. although, on the Pistons he'd have lots of opportunities for assists as well.
like Chris said, i think he'd be more effective as a complimentary big man to a scoring big. i don't see Miller as big upgrade.

Replace Petro with Swift and you have a deal.
Cross 06-08-2006, 06:12 AM Say no to Brad Miller.
Hes a big whos very good at passing, but you do never see him getting 20 10. He gets close to that but he is more of a 15/7/6 type of player. If we get Brad for any reason, we lose a lot of D.
for the sonics idea, I like Petro more than Swift. hes younger, although not by much and looks more promising IMO.

RIP Petro.
Glenn 06-08-2006, 08:16 AM Me too.
He was amazing in video games.
There was this one game for Super Nintendo where he basically couldn't miss.

I may not be completely familiar with Brad Miller's game, but everytime I see him, he's taking a face to the basket jumper (albeit, he makes a lot of them) but exactly how does that improve our post game? I like Kenny and I think he would add to the low post, but how much more than sheed?
Yes Brad Miller plays the high post. He's mostly a passer/jumpshooter.
the one thing i'll give Brad Miller (that all fantasy bball junkies know) is that he shoots a great percentage from the floor and FT line.
