Paxson has to be creaming himself right now.
Unibomber 05-23-2006, 10:03 PM Merge this thread with mine. I posted the results.
note: done, homie --GD
Cross 05-24-2006, 05:00 AM Thankfully the Magic didnt get so high in this draft:)
WTFchris 05-24-2006, 07:14 AM Chicago is going to be pushing the Cavs for 2nd in the Central if they get a good big man to pair with Chandler. They could also add an outside shooter with their pick.
Glenn 05-24-2006, 07:38 AM As much as I want to LOL@Knicks for giving the Bulls their #2 pick as part of the Eddy Curry deal, I can't laugh because that pick plus their cap room makes them a threat pretty much immediately.
Darth Thanatos 05-24-2006, 04:33 PM The Bulls don't need outside shooting. They need some post scoring, which means Thomas and Aldridge are at the top of their list.
Wow, this draft sucks.
Glenn 05-24-2006, 04:42 PM Here's a mock.

DIME MOCK DRAFT:
LotteryPickTeamPlayerPos.School
1.Raptors (http://msn.foxsports.com/nba/team/71102)Adam MorrisonSFGonzagahttp://msn.foxsports.com/fe/img/NBA/TeamLogo/Medium/28.gif (http://msn.foxsports.com/nba/teamStats?categoryId=71102&season=regular&statGroup=scoring&stype=pointsAverage) We can see a front line of Chris Bosh, Charlie Villanueva and Adam Morrison, with Morris Peterson moving to two guard. If Toronto can get a point guard in there — either by re-signing Mike James or picking up more of a pass-first type via free agency or trade — the Raptors will be going somewhere. Morrison may or may not be the next Larry Bird like everyone wants him to be, but he'll still give you 15-18 points a night right off the bat.
2.Bulls (from Knicks) (http://msn.foxsports.com/nba/team/71078)LaMarcus AldridgePF/CTexashttp://msn.foxsports.com/fe/img/NBA/TeamLogo/Medium/4.gif (http://msn.foxsports.com/nba/teamStats?categoryId=71078&season=regular&statGroup=scoring&stype=pointsAverage) The Bulls need a big man who can score, and Aldridge fits the bill. Your last memory of him may be the terrible game he had against LSU in the NCAA tournament, but don't forget that for the rest of the season he was the best big man in college hoops.
3.Bobcats (http://msn.foxsports.com/nba/team/71951)Brandon RoySGWashingtonhttp://msn.foxsports.com/fe/img/NBA/TeamLogo/Medium/30.gif (http://msn.foxsports.com/nba/teamStats?categoryId=71951&season=regular&statGroup=scoring&stype=pointsAverage) Charlotte's only glaring hole is at the two, and Roy will be sitting right there for them as the best guard in the draft.
4.Trail Blazers (http://msn.foxsports.com/nba/team/71096)Rudy GaySFConnecticuthttp://msn.foxsports.com/fe/img/NBA/TeamLogo/Medium/22.gif (http://msn.foxsports.com/nba/teamStats?categoryId=71096&season=regular&statGroup=scoring&stype=pointsAverage) Darius Miles is as good as gone this summer, leaving a hole at small forward that Gay can occupy. If the draft were based on talent alone, Gay would be an easy No. 1 pick, but concerns about his desire and lack of a killer instinct hurt his cause.
5.Hawks (http://msn.foxsports.com/nba/team/71075)Andrea BargnaniSF/PFItalyhttp://msn.foxsports.com/fe/img/NBA/TeamLogo/Medium/1.gif (http://msn.foxsports.com/nba/teamStats?categoryId=71075&season=regular&statGroup=scoring&stype=pointsAverage) Recent reports say the Hawks' front office has fallen in love with Bargnani, who has been drawing comparisons to Dirk Nowitzki and has been projected by some as a 7-foot small forward in the NBA. Of course the Hawks don't really need any more frontcourt players, but the possibility of losing Al Harrington to free agency could be cause enough (for some people) to take another one.
6.Timberwolves (http://msn.foxsports.com/nba/team/71090)Tyrus ThomasPFLSUhttp://msn.foxsports.com/fe/img/NBA/TeamLogo/Medium/16.gif (http://msn.foxsports.com/nba/teamStats?categoryId=71090&season=regular&statGroup=scoring&stype=pointsAverage) We really have no idea what Minnesota's roster will look like next season, what with all the Kevin Garnett trade rumors. In cases like these it's usually the safest bet to just take the best player on the board, and Thomas is clearly the guy at this spot. And if KG stays, there's nothing wrong with having a super-active, super-athletic big man for him to take under his wing.
7.Celtics (http://msn.foxsports.com/nba/team/71076)Marcus WilliamsPGConnecticuthttp://msn.foxsports.com/fe/img/NBA/TeamLogo/Medium/2.gif (http://msn.foxsports.com/nba/teamStats?categoryId=71076&season=regular&statGroup=scoring&stype=pointsAverage) We like Delonte West's game, but it wouldn't hurt them to have a pure point guard in the mix. You know Williams can distribute the rock, and he's also impressed scouts with his 3-point shooting in recent workouts.
8.Rockets (http://msn.foxsports.com/nba/team/71084)Randy FoyeSG/PGVillanovahttp://msn.foxsports.com/fe/img/NBA/TeamLogo/Medium/10.gif (http://msn.foxsports.com/nba/teamStats?categoryId=71084&season=regular&statGroup=scoring&stype=pointsAverage) As we saw when T-Mac and Yao went down, this team needs someone who can put the ball in the hole. As we also saw when the rest of the roster went down, they also need someone who will stay upright for 82 games. Foye is a tough guy who can put up points and comes through in crunch time. He isn't a true PG, which might have some fans scared of another Steve Francis-type scenario, but Foye is a coach's dream. He basically let Jay Wright play him at the four his last year at 'Nova.
9.Warriors (http://msn.foxsports.com/nba/team/71083)Rodney CarneySFMemphishttp://msn.foxsports.com/fe/img/NBA/TeamLogo/Medium/9.gif (http://msn.foxsports.com/nba/teamStats?categoryId=71083&season=regular&statGroup=scoring&stype=pointsAverage) Imagine Carney and Jason Richardson running the wings on a Baron Davis-led fastbreak. Nasty.
10.Supersonics (http://msn.foxsports.com/nba/team/71099)Shelden WilliamsC/PFDukehttp://msn.foxsports.com/fe/img/NBA/TeamLogo/Medium/25.gif (http://msn.foxsports.com/nba/teamStats?categoryId=71099&season=regular&statGroup=scoring&stype=pointsAverage) This team needs someone who can defend the post, and Williams has been college basketball's version of Ben Wallace for the past four years. He won't be asked to score too much; just grab those offensive boards and kick it back out to Ray Allen and Rashard Lewis.
11.Magic (http://msn.foxsports.com/nba/team/71093)J.J. RedickSGDukehttp://msn.foxsports.com/fe/img/NBA/TeamLogo/Medium/19.gif (http://msn.foxsports.com/nba/teamStats?categoryId=71093&season=regular&statGroup=scoring&stype=pointsAverage) What coach in his right mind is leaving Redick open to double-team Dwight Howard? Please. Having Redick around will give Dwight room to breathe inside.
12.Hornets (http://msn.foxsports.com/nba/team/71077) Patrick O'BryantCBradleyhttp://msn.foxsports.com/fe/img/NBA/TeamLogo/Medium/3.gif (http://msn.foxsports.com/nba/teamStats?categoryId=71077&season=regular&statGroup=scoring&stype=pointsAverage) P.J. Brown isn't getting any younger, and O'Bryant is a legit 7-foot-2 big man. He's raw and needs work offensively, but will also have the benefit of Chris Paul getting him the ball in the right spots.
13.76ers (http://msn.foxsports.com/nba/team/71094)Mardy CollinsSGTemplehttp://msn.foxsports.com/fe/img/NBA/TeamLogo/Medium/20.gif (http://msn.foxsports.com/nba/teamStats?categoryId=71094&season=regular&statGroup=scoring&stype=pointsAverage) Fans always like a hometown guy. Oh, and Collins isn't a bad ballplayer, either. He's a 6-6 point guard who can score ... even in John Chaney's system.
14.Jazz (http://msn.foxsports.com/nba/team/71100)Ronnie BrewerSGArkansashttp://msn.foxsports.com/fe/img/NBA/TeamLogo/Medium/26.gif (http://msn.foxsports.com/nba/teamStats?categoryId=71100&season=regular&statGroup=scoring&stype=pointsAverage) The Jazz are just a couple pieces away from being a playoff team. They could use Brewer's versatility (he can also play the point) and athleticism.
Unibomber 05-24-2006, 06:14 PM Lots of things wrong with that mock.
1. Morrison ain't the number one pick. It's looking like Aldridge or Bargnani.
2. The Blazers will look to go for a PF or C (the two above mentioned) with the fourth pick, and if not I expect Nash to make some phone calls about trading down.
3. Can someone please explain why there are dozens of sportswriters on Brandon Roy's cock?
4. If the Rockets passed on Carney Carroll Dawson would be fired. Even though I hate Carney, that's where he goes.
5. If Redick is a lottery pick I will shit myself.
Thanks for the merge, Glenn.
b-diddy 05-24-2006, 11:00 PM not a bad mock, glenn, but anyone who thinks morrison should go #1 has to be joking.
how aldridge isnt the consensus #1 is beyond me. any 7 footer with a good post game (who loves to play in the post!) and is athletic should be number 1 just about any year. yet i guess some people think an unathletic sf is more valuable... only guy i might take over aldridge is bargnini, and only cuz i've never seen him.
i love gay too.
tyrus thomas is the most overrated guy in the draft. he's either a pf who's going to get tossed around or a sf with no handle, no perimeter game, and a mediocre bball iq. of course, he could also be the next dennis rodman.
Cross 05-25-2006, 05:06 AM Lots of things wrong with that mock.
5. If Redick is a lottery pick I will shit myself.
Me too.
Overrated piece of shit
Pharaoh 05-26-2006, 02:59 AM JJ will likely be a Lotto pick. The Draft is so even though that he could fall into the late teens.
And since I couldn't find my Raptors thread I'll post this here:
Is anyone surprised that Toronto won the Lotto?
The NBA needs to have a team in Canada. The Toronto team has stunk up the joint for a long time. After the Vince trade it was trashed all through the media. Sam Mitchell is a joke and gets trashed everywhere as well.
Out of nowhere the Executive of the Year leaves a highly successful Phoenix franchise (where he has family ties) for this mess.
And no one even thinks twice!
Here we are a few months later and BC is armed with the #1 pick, a truckload of cap room and is ready to make a big splash this off-season.
Everything fell into place nicely, didn't it?
He'll have a fine off-season, the media will sing his praises and the NBA in Canada will begin an upward swing.
And after reading how Stern endorsed BC to the Knicks a few years ago it doesn't surprised me one bit that the Raps won the Lotto.
Stern is probably kicking himself for agreeing to the age limit, because if High School kids were in this Draft his boy BC gets Oden!!
defrocked 05-26-2006, 08:01 AM Here's my conspiracy theory: There were a bunch of ping pong balls, and Toronto's came up when they were finding out who had the first pick.
Glenn 05-26-2006, 08:08 AM Ah, the "frozen envelope" theory rears it's ugly head again. lol
If they were going to conspire, I would think it would be more desirable to get that first pick in Chicago, for obvious reasons.
Darth Thanatos 05-29-2006, 02:36 PM Did I just read a scout compare Shelden Williams to Ben Wallace?
As a Piston fan I'm insulted. That's the worst comparison ever. Williams is trash.
