The Nuggets have not decided how to restructure the front office after Vandeweghe's contract was not renewed. One option is a two-person general manager.

Andrews would not discuss candidates. San Antonio assistant general manager Sam Presti is believed to be high on the list, but neither Andrews nor Spurs publicist Tom James would say whether Denver has asked to speak with him.

Others who might be looked at are Detroit director of player personnel Scott Perry,

For those who don't know who Scott Perry is (because he's not mentioned in front office rumors as often as John Hammond):

Scott Perry was promoted to his current position as the club’s director of player personnel in June of 2002 after joining the Pistons as a college scout during the summer of 2000. Perry will coordinate the team’s NBA Draft preparation, NBA Development League, CBA and ABA scouting efforts, organize college scouting schedules, handle the coordination of the team’s free agent visits and assemble the team’s summer league roster.

Prior to joining the Pistons, Perry spent three seasons as a head coach at Eastern Kentucky in the Ohio Valley Conference and nine seasons as an assistant coach with Michigan, Cal-Berkeley and Detroit Mercy. In addition to helping Michigan land the nation’s top ranked recruiting classes in 1994 and 1995, Perry played a significant role in recruiting current NBA players Robert Traylor and Maurice Taylor. He also coached New Jersey Nets guard Jason Kidd and forward Lamond Murray at California and Toronto Raptors guard Jalen Rose and Houston Rockets forward Juwan Howard at Michigan.
Graduating from Wayne State in 1986 with a Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Perry was a captain and all-conference basketball player his senior year. Recruited to play at Oregon by former Boston Celtics and Philadelphia 76ers coach Jim O’Brien and NBA executive Stu Jackson, Perry spent freshman year with the Ducks prior to transferring.

Chairman of the St. Cecilia’s Athletic Board and organizer of the Ceciliaville Golf Outing for the past four years, Perry resides in West Bloomfield with his wife, Kim, and daughter Chelsea (10). Perry’s father, Lowell, was the first black assistant coach in the NFL, hired by the Pittsburgh Steelers in 1957
