I think the Cavs will get one game in the series, and it might be this one.

That being said, I hope we don't take it up the ol' poopshoot.

Hopefully that run in the 4th quarter by the Cavs helps motivate the Pistons for this game. If it wasn't for that run I would be almost certain Pistons would come out lazy in game 3.

Let's hope we can end this shit quick.

Hughes leaves Cavs after younger brother dies
Associated Press

CLEVELAND -- Cavaliers guard Larry Hughes left the team Thursday to be with his family in St. Louis following the death of his brother.

Justin Hughes, 20, died early Thursday, Cavaliers general manager Danny Ferry said in a statement. Justin Hughes was born with a heart defect and had a heart transplant 10 years ago.

No timetable has been set on Larry Hughes' return to the Cavaliers.

Cleveland trails Detroit 2-0 in the Eastern Conference semifinals. Game 3 is Saturday at Cleveland.

"Right now, basketball should be the furthest thing from his mind," teammate Damon Jones said. "He has to be there for his family. They're going through a trying time right now. If he's able to get back, that's good. if he's not, were going to continue to keep him in spirit in our hearts."

I smell a big game for Chauncey... he's overdue.

The one scary thing is -- the Pistons clearly seem very worried about this game:

Detroit News - With the Cavaliers halfway to elimination, LeBron James acknowledged on Friday that the Cavaliers may have already won their final game of the season.

"I hate to think about that, but that is a reality," James said. "It might and can happen, but it's possible we might come back from 0-2. If that (sweep) happens, which I don't intend to happen, it doesn't take anything away from this season."

Well atleast he recognizes the truth:)

Never been less upset by a loss in my life. I knew we'd lose this game.

P.S. This series is boring as fuck.

P.P.S. Mo Evans is fucking garbage.

P.P.P.S. Seriously, the guy should be the 11th man off the Knicks' bench. He fucking blows.

that surge they had with mo evans stack of fuck ups gave them a serious surge. we never seemed to completely recover. i said i'd leave him alone as long as he didnt do shit to cost us a game. this was pretty close to that. though i blame bad defense towards the end also.

FP22

Same old shit. I'm just pissed that we lost after having a 10 point lead in the third.

And yes, Mo Evans stands for everything that is wrong with the world. I've never seen a guy play half a minute in the 2nd half and completely kill all momentum.

Flip needs to learn... Bring the damn bench in with 3-4 minutes left in the third. That way the starters have time to regain momentum if they fuck up.

Why's it so hard to make LeBron take a jumpshot? I don't care how quick or how strong he is--move your feet. It's not rocket science. We can force Dwayne Wade to shoot a jumpshot, but we're helpless against LeBron? I don't buy it.

All the double and triple teaming hurt as much as it helped. It created a diffusion of responsibility among the defenders, i.e., "Oh, I don't need to stay in front of him, somebody else will cover me." I'd almost be happier with saying to Tay: He's all yours, you're getting no help, just make him shoot jumpshots.

And Mo Evans was crap. He should take his ass back to Sacramento. He's like a Darvin Ham who doesn't hustle. He made about 4 or 5 crap plays in a row that blew our lead.

Next game, I expect Sheed to work a lot more in the post. He can eat Varejean(?) alive whenever he wants. Let's take advantage of it. If they double--or should I say, when they double--we'll get an open jumpshot.

I'm 100% confident we'll win this series, but I just wanted to get it done in four games to give our vets some rest. Oh well, they didn't seem to want it much today...

Mo might as well have been wearing a Cavs uni today.

i'm pissed i had to wait a week to watch this garbage. Mo single handedly created momentum for the Cavs. did you guys see that replay when he was running back, and forgot to cover Lebron? uhm.....great basketball IQ.

05-13-2006, 08:14 PM

A lot of the Pistons played like shit.

Lindsey Hunter had a turnover (for a breakaway basket), an and 1 foul (on another breakaway) and an airball in 1 minute of play.....NICE!!!

Ben Wallace looked awful as he didn't jump or make any effort for rebounds and walked up and down the court for most of the game.

Prince looked hesitant to shoot the ball and passed up several open threes

Mo..............sucked donkey dick!!

Sheed didn't seem to want to play defense.

Overall the game was a joke and Flip needs to take control. He is the goddamn coach after all.

How many road game threes do the pistons win? Anyone who is a piston fan knows we never win these games, we kick them in the nuts in game 4 then come back and shit on Lebron on game 5, all the while ESPN shows golden boy's every move during game 3.

Maurice Evans' effect on this game is miniscule. The Pistons pissed away a 10-point lead by shooting 1-8 in the last 5:48 of the 3rd quarter. Maurice entered the game in the 4th when it was 62-59 Pistons and admittedly sucked - for one whole minute. He was taken out of the game with well over 7 minutes to go and Detroit down by just 2. Rasheed and especially Tayshaun are to blame for this loss, not Mo.

A -5 point differential is one thing. But giving Lebron a wide open Dunk after he had struggled to get himself going all game cost us a lot more than just those points. From that point on Lebron couldn't be stopped. It got the crowd fired up and gave Lebron some confidence after putting up like 6 points to that point. And that doesn't even mention Mo's TO and "And 1" foul on Varejao.

I'm not saying he didn't suck, I'm just saying it's laughable to blame the loss on him. He didn't make them shoot 11% the final 6 minutes of the 3rd quarter, he also didn't give up 2 layups, a slam dunk, and 2 open threes in the final few minutes of the 4th. You are so blinded by 'Mo-hate' that you apparently didn't notice that Sheed went 3 for 11, got out-rebounded by Flip Murray, and managed to collect 3 stupid fouls in the final four minutes.

Well the refs were calling the game EXTREMELY close in the 4th quarter, which indirectly favors the Cavs since we're a more physical team. If we broke the 1 foot air cushion around LeBron, it was a whistle.

Anyway, we deserved to lose that game. Forget the refs--we just didn't play Pistons defense in the 2nd half. The Cavs were getting deep in the paint every play, and I thought I was watchin' a Wizards game.

All I seen was a post about Maurice Evans "being everything wrong with the world". He "killed the momentum" - you know, that -7 deficit the Pistons had built up since midway through the 3rd. He certainly didn't do anything to stop it, but then again neither did Sheed or Tayshaun. And they're set to make over 30 times what he makes over the next few years a piece.

That bold part was obviously a joke. But admit it. That was as bad a 1:15 stretch as you'll ever see late in a close playoff game. Really, Flip is the guy who needs the blame for that though. He should not be putting Mo in mid-way through the 4th. Take Tayshaun out with 3-4 minutes left in the 3rd and bring him back at the start of the 4th. It isn't that difficult, but he never seems to get it right.

The boxscore shows that every player but Rip played below their typical level: Chauncey's A:T was only 5:4 (it's usually more like 5:1), Tay shot 40%, Sheed shot 27%, and Ben didn't muster a single block.

The whole team accounted for only 2 blocked shots! Two! Get that weak shit outta here. Combine that w/ 16 turnovers, and it's a wonder we almost won the game.

Our team A:T ratio was only 1.3 to 1. In games one and two, combined, it was an average of 2.4 to 1.

We had 15 turnovers on roughly 77 possessions(that's slooooooow) yesterday. During the season we averaged about 11 turnovers on 86 possessions. When 20% of your possessions end up in turnovers, Rasheed and Tayshaun shoot like shit, and you have Maurice Evans with possibly the worst minute in playoff history - I'm surprised we didn't get blown out by 20. Just goes to show you how mediocre the Cavaliers are. Our team turned into a giant Malik Rose - we couldn't shoot or handle the ball.

hey in my post i said mo evans almost did enough to outright blame him. but as a team we gave this one away with shitty defense and subpar offensive execution. With that said, what he did for that stretch was the most worthless momentum killer ever. and since he doesnt have the background of winning games and jumpstarting momentum that rip, cbill, and tay have. I'm downing him. just because we werent looking great the whole game doesnt give him the right to help us fail on that level. yikes. michael curry coulda did better in that span right now(and no thats not a complement to curry). If sheed can shoulder the blame for leaving horry in a game we shouldnt of even went to overtime in against the spurs. Then i can make Mo my scapegoat for the next day or two :p :D
