View Full Version : The Raspberries!
realistic 05-08-2006, 10:14 PM Please opine on these 5 anti-awards.
1. Least Valuable Player (LVP): Remember, this isn't necessarily the worst player in the NBA. Rather it's the one most essential to his team's suckage, the one most crucial to his team's incompetence. In short, this guy makes the wheels not go 'round.
My vote: Stephon Marbury
Worst Coach: That coach who did the least with the most.
My pick: Larry Brown. Led his team to a 23-59 record, and he's got a little pee spot in the crouch of his khakis.
Worst Executive:
My pick: Isiah Thomas. 100 million dollars. 23 wins. And doesn't somebody get their draft pick?
Matador (worst defender):
My pick: TJ Ford. Plays better defense in NBA Jam.
Step Back Player of the Year:
My pick: Kenyon Martin 12.9 ppg, 6.3 rebounds. Impressive step backwards. This vote went down to the wire, but Martin narrowly edged out Carlos Boozer.
{posted thread in wrong forum. Mah bad! Please move it if the spirit moves you. OMG, last episode of 7th Heav, and Omberto just kissed Rose. What about the wedding!}
Black Dynamite 05-08-2006, 10:19 PM i'd totally put boozer over kenyon. also worst coach would go to the minny coach.
worst gm. goes to zeke still. but pat riley made the worst offseason moves.

I respect your opinion, I just disagree with it.
Kstat 05-08-2006, 10:23 PM worst exec shouldnt even be a categoy this year. The winner is too obvious.
LVP: Baron Davis
worst coach: Maurice Cheeks
Matador: Michael Redd
Step-back player: Larry Hughes
Kstat 05-08-2006, 10:23 PM Boozer as step-back player makes no sense, since he wasn't shit last year either.
Black Dynamite 05-08-2006, 10:29 PM Boozer as step-back player makes no sense, since he wasn't shit last year either.
he fell even further into the shitter :D
Also i forgot about redd and his hilarious antic he pulled at the palace earlier this season. getting out of the way of the guy you're guarding so you can stay on the court is funny as fuck.
Uncle Mxy 05-09-2006, 01:03 PM LVP: Allan Houston. Perhaps -the- essential problem with the Knicks is how they've blown the salary cap, and no one epitomizes that like him.
Worst Coach: Mike Montgomery. Exciting start, predictable finish.
Worst Executive: #11
Matador: There's lots of rookies who'd qualify. Among folks who've played awhile, Flip Murray comes to mind.
Step Back Player of the Year: Steve Franchise.
Darth Thanatos 05-09-2006, 01:13 PM Carlos Boozer in 2006:16 ppg 55%, 9 rpg, 3 apg
That coming off a serious hamstring injury.
OMG TEH SUCKITUDE!
LVP: Moochie Norris. Only because his name is Moochie.
Worst Coach: Maurice Cheeks. Took HUGE steps back.
Metador: Steve "Paper MVP" Nash, Antoine Walker, Richard Hamilton, Michael Redd, Antawn Jamison
Worst Exec: Isiah. But I still love him. :(
Stepback: Latrell Sprewell - Went from being a double-digit scorer to out of the NBA in a year.
Black Dynamite 05-09-2006, 01:19 PM ummm boozer played in 18 less games this year. big time suckage since he played is 51 the year before. not playing can be suckage. see sprewell :)
Darth Thanatos 05-09-2006, 01:24 PM Being injured is not considered suckage, it's considered being unfortunate. Sprewell is not in the league because he sucks and wanted a lot of money. Boozer actually contributed in his two years with the Jazz, and contributed very big. K-Mart and Sprewell dropped off way more than Boozer.
Kstat 05-09-2006, 01:25 PM I think he's just reaching for straws.
Kinda like you were in putting Rip in "matador" territory.

but spree's numbers never dropped. regardless of whether he was signed or not. kmart has a legitimate case. but not spreewell. and if spree does then so does boozer.
Black Dynamite 05-09-2006, 01:40 PM Kinda like you were in putting Rip in "matador" territory.
you havent been active enough to know that he has always disliked Rip and his defense. But Rip has played some damn solid defense this year. Probally his best ever. his work on wade looked better than anyone else in the leaugue honestly.
Darth Thanatos 05-09-2006, 01:43 PM Spree was never signed by an NBA team, which tells you what they think of his game at this point. They both missed games for very different reasons.
K-Mart had a couple of injury problems, but he was mediocre on the court healthy. You can't say the same thing about Boozer, who continues to produce on the court.

produce less than last year and became even more irrelevent to his team playing 33 games. now what team do you think signs him right now. i highly doubt the jazz wouldnt cut him if they could get something back. but nobody wants boozer and his money just like spree. its not about spree';s ability. he's just as good as he was in minny. just not good enough for the money he wants. he doesnt have the same good fortune as boozer of being locked into his contract.
either i dont want none of these cats in detroit.
DennyMcLain 05-09-2006, 02:12 PM 1. Least Valuable Player (LVP): Ron Artest. Dude sat out nearly the entire season because he's a fucking douche, and a reasonably strong Pacer team became a 41-41 team overnight.
Worst Coach: Bob Hill. A 52 win Sonics team became a 37 win Sonics team. The Knicks, however, have always sucked.
Worst Executive: Zeke, 'nuff said.
Matador (worst defender): Dirk Nowviskiskiiski (#$@% German names!!!).
Step Back Player of the Year: Chris Webber. A complete no-show this season....waitaminute.... oh, he's playing in PHILLY? Didn't know that. Thought he pulled an ARTEST. Then I'd have to say DaRkO (wasn't this supposed to be HIS year?)
MOLA1 05-09-2006, 02:20 PM Least Valuable Player (LVP):
http://espn-att.starwave.com/i/nba/profiles/players/35x48/3402.jpg
Darius Miles - He was on fire for 3 out of 82 games. Unacceptable.
Worst Coach:
http://images.amazon.com/images/P/0071382089.01._SCTHUMBZZZ_.jpg
Phil Jackson - I still haven't actually seen him coach anything ever.
Worst Executive:
http://images.amazon.com/images/P/0066620740.01.THUMBZZZ.jpg
Zeke - He wasted more money on less talent than Master P
did on the likes of anyone in the No Limit camp.
Matadors:
http://www.tvdance.com/information/tickets/-00-images/sports/basketball/raptors-logo.gif
Jalen Rose, Morris Peterson, Joey Graham, and Eric Williams
(En route to 81, Kobe hit them each up for 20 in 12 minutes a piece.)
Step Back Player of the Year:
http://www.hhweb.com/photos/nba2004as/MagloireJamaalASG01.gif
Jamal Magloire - He went from "Hey now, you're an All-Star!" to
"Hey now, you're not as good as Gadzuric and the only
reason you're playing is because he got injured!"
BIG BEN'S FRO 05-09-2006, 05:13 PM Gotta go with Baron Davis as LVP. He is good enough that they are forced to focus the team around him, but is injury prone enough to kill them every season. Add in the crazy shots he takes at times, and he is the LVP.
Worst Coach: Larry Brown, but not for the reason you might think. Yes his team blew, but they usually blew before he rebuilt them, almost intentionally. What will make him the worst coach will be if he leaves after this season with such a crappy record instead of staying around to win.
Worst Coach: Eddy Curry has essentially been traded now for Elton Brand & likely the #1 or 2 pick in this draft. Zeke, what the hell are you thinking?
Matador: Steve Nash - this shouldn't even be a question. Steve is the MVP of offense, but opposing PGs light him up every time.
Step Back POY: Kenyon Martin -- gets injured too much, screws his team in the playoffs, plays WAY below his contract. Welcome to the Knicks young man. May you join Allan Houston, Vin Baker, etc in your NY Knick Career.
Kstat 05-09-2006, 05:15 PM Watching the Warriors with Baron Davis at PG and Monta Ellis at PG was enough to convince me Baron was LVP.
Kstat 05-09-2006, 05:35 PM I'd like to add a category:
RBOY (Rookie bust of the year)- which rookie fell short of expectations the most?
Darth Thanatos 05-09-2006, 06:07 PM Andrew Bogut. Plays good D and can pass, but he's average at everything else.
