It doesn't mention anything about a suspension, so I am assuming that he is just fined.

How gay. Basketball is finally getting physical again, and the NBA fines and suspeends everyone. I would think most fans like that rough style of play. I know I do.

Rip's foul was not a flagrant 2.

The league is out of control with this bullshit.

It's absurd that Rip got the same penalty as that nut hugging fruit Reggie Evans.

The Artest foul set a bad precedent.

It wasn't a flagrant 2, but because of Artest it guy bumped up.

Now every flagrant is a flagrant 2.

Fuckers.

Fuck Stern and Jackson. Really, I think this sorta play is what the NBA needs. Maybe not the artest elbow, but there is nothing wrong with some hard fouls and physical play. This is the fucking playoffs. What a load of shit.

Dallas’ Nowitzki Fined and Foul Upgraded

Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitzki was fined $15,000 and assessed a flagrant foul penalty two on Wednesday for a foul against Memphis' Pau Gasol in the final game of Dallas' first-round series sweep.

The league announced that Nowitzki's punishment was for "making unnecessary and excessive contact." The incident occurred with 6:11 left in the second quarter of Game 4 on Monday night and only drew a personal foul at the time.

In Game 3, Nowitzki was called for a flagrant foul when he tried stopping Gasol on a drive with a minute left in overtime. Replays clearly showed that he got the ball, an indication he wasn't merely going at Gasol, and the team asked the league to rescind it.

Didn't see the need to make a new thread just for this.
