i have an acoustic guitar that's gathering dust....can anyone recommend a good local guitar teacher in the troy/bloomfield hills area? how about online at-your-own-pace lessons? are those a good place to start with the basics?

I dont believe in online guitar lessons myself. I've had real ones before and i dont know how you could easily equate to online. but who knows i guess.

I wouldnt know a place these days. I wouldnt mind catching up on my drum lessons myself. Its been too long since those for me and i was kicking asses in those classes for a nice length of time until my own uncle stole my drum set.

Otherwise, PM me and I'll find out if my guitar player wants to teach. He's the greatest
guitar player I have ever heard in my life. He shits on Esteban. LMFAO though Fool.

With Jose Feliciano, you got no complaints.

(I guess I didn't learn my lesson about posting Fargo quotes around here after all)

I don't know, Matt, but I tought myself and I consider myself one of the better players in my area. I'm still learning, though---

If I were you, I'd start off learning some simple chords like I did (just google guitar chords) and the diagrams are fairly simple to figure. Play the shit out of these, slow at first, but then quickening to get your fingers used to moving around the fretboard at a higher pace.

But if you want to pay for lessons, then by all means, go for it. So far, in my collection, I've got two electrics, a 100-watt amplifier, and soon to be an acoustic-electric. I'm also considering getting an electric-acoustic mandolin. I love recording music and shit, so fun.
