When Ben Wallace approached the scorer's table before tip-off, he stopped dead in his tracks. Someone had already sprinkled rosin powder on the table. Wallace, and only Wallace, does that before every game. It's part of his routine.
"Who did this?" Wallace asked to no one in particular.
"Mo," said Pistons trainer Mike Abdenour, referring to Evans. "He didn't know."
Wallace grabbed a towel, carefully wiped the rosin powder off the table, took the white bottle and sprinkled a new coating. He firmly pressed his hands in the powder and grinded the mixture. He then stepped back, sent a cloud of rosin into the air with one thunderous clap, ran toward Antonio McDyess and gave him a high-five.
Now that's keeping a routine.
