Moodini31 04-11-2006, 09:16 PM OK, here's my situation.
http://i1.ebayimg.com/04/i/06/88/8d/f6_2.JPG
I bought some Jordan XIs off of ebay and sent the payment on March 28. I talked to the guy who sold them to me today and he told me he hasn't received the payment yet. I sent a money order of $76.00 to him in Hong Kong, and he's saying he still hasn't got it yet. How long does it take so send something from Michigan to Hong Kong? Does it cost any extra money to ship international? Because I just put on a regular 39 cent stamp. Wouldn't it come back "return to sender" if that was the case? What should I do? AAAAAAAAH! [smilie=banghead.gi:
it definitely costs more than a stamp to ship something from michigan to hong kong.
honestly, from now on, you should stick to using paypal for payments. but, that's beside the point.
where did you make the money order? your bank?
i would suspect that the mail will come back to you. maybe you should try visiting your nearby post office (since calling them is usually a waste of time).
I'm pretty sure it costs more than a 39 cent for postage to ship that baby out overseas. Do you have a receipt with the money order? Just refund it and send out a new one or better yet pay a different way. If it doesn't work out soon he could be scamming you.
I was thinking along with what Matt said:
-Use PayPal
-Try to buy within the continent
-Stuff from Hong Kong is prone to be knockoffs (especially with Nike shoes)
Just from my experience anyway.

yeah, i was going to say the same thing.......google "fake nikes" or "knock off jordans", stuff like that.
theMUHMEshow 04-12-2006, 10:13 AM I bought a pair of SHOX off eBay from overseas...Great shoes...took a while to get them here to the states but they are not knock offs...I sent my money paypal though
Screw ebay. I just wrote a letter to this kid and slipped a five in it. Bam, new shoes!

Glenn 04-12-2006, 10:28 AM Since this is an ebay help thread, I throw in a new question.
I really like ebay.
I've bought quite a bit of stuff on ebay, but I've never sold anything. How complicated is it?
I've got some stuff that I'd like to liquidate.
MOLA1 04-12-2006, 10:31 AM PayPal like Matt said.
ebay's great for shoes. I've used them many times.
I've also used the site for sunglasses. I had this pair of Phat Farm sunglasses,
loved them and couldn't find them and when I did, they were like $80 and shit.
I browsed on ebay one day and found them for cheap!

depending on what you want to sell, i'd recommend: http://detroit.craigslist.org/
it's a free local classified ads site. positives are that you don't need to ship, you can get cash right away, and it's totally free to use.
selling on eBay can suck because you get hit with fees from eBay and Paypal (if you use them to accept payments. a majority of eBay sales use paypal).
pictures help tremendously when selling stuff online.
gusman 04-12-2006, 02:15 PM I sell stuff on ebay everyday. The most common problem I run in to is people sending me an E CHECK vs an instant payment. If the game is in 3 days and the e check takes a week to clear I have to send the tickets to someone of the assumption that the sheck will clear. Just the other day I got screwed out of 170 dollars because I sent the tickets out before the check cleared then they canceled the payment.

I have a paypal account, but this seller did not accept paypal. I made the money order at Meijers. Don't you think I should have received the envelope back by now? And what do I say to the people at the post office? Ask them if they can track my envelope?

Shox aren't really in high demand. No offense to anyone here, but Jordans and Dunk SBs are NOTORIOUS on eBay with fakes. Hopefully Moodini31's transaction falls through.

You should ask the post office just that: "How much postage would it cost to send that money order out to Hong Kong?" and "I sent out a money order with insufficient postage, I haven't gotten it back yet?" or something.
They can't really do much tracking unless you got a tracking number service (which is more than 39 cents).
I haven't really sent out a money order in a few years but I'm pretty sure you can get it refunded...
Seriously just explain your situation to the PO or just get the money refunded and send it out again with the proper mailing insurance/confirmation/tracking services.
Moodini31 04-13-2006, 10:26 PM I don't know what happened, but I got an email from the guy in Hong Kong saying that he received the payment today? [smilie=huh.gif] I know I only put a 39 cent stamp on the envelope, but somehow he got it. Well, I'll take it. Super sweet. [smilie=2thumbsup.g:
