i like doug collins, in that he does provide some good basketball insight when he's commentating. here's his latest:
For anyone who believed the Pistons' defense had slipped this season, former Pistons coach Doug Collins begs to differ.
He pointed out last week that the Pistons had by far the best record in the league when they shot 45 percent or worse -- 26-10. Dallas was second at 19-9. Miami, by contrast, was 11-15 when it shot 45 percent or worse.
"What I look to first is how teams do when they don't shoot the ball well," said Collins, the lead analyst for TNT. "That gives me an idea of what teams will do in the playoffs, when the games become grind-it-out defensive battles. The Pistons still win games with their defense."
They shot 45 percent Sunday against the Pacers and won by 25 points, 98-73.

i think that's a great point by Collins. the pistons can win ugly games, which happen quite a bit in the playoffs. Dallas' record does surprise me, though.
