The white boy vid and the DC tourney contest led me to wonder: Exactly WHO here at WTFDetroit can actually dunk a basketball on a regulation ten foot basket?

And I'm not talking chick dunks. I'm talking "with authority".

And I'm talking a "basketball". Nerf balls and the hollow plastic balls in those McDonald's playground ballbin things don't count.

No trampolines and/or pogo sticks and/or rocket packs allowed.

I, personally, could touch the rim several years back, but got no higher.

Before beer, buffalo wings, laziness, knee and ankle injuries took their toll on me I could dunk.

I was never the leaping type. I could touch the Rim in high school. But that was it. I could work the post and had a great 3 pointer. I liked to emulate reggie miller and magic on the 3's in my early 20's/late teens. now all i do is touch the net and lay it up and nail some jumpers.

I could dunk back in high school pretty well. I wasnt like great, but ona the better at my school.

I played prolly about a month ago for the first time in like a year, and i tried to dunk and got stuffed by the rim. (darko style) So i havnt tried since.

Iv been playin more lately though. So, ill try again some time this week and give yall the update.

ah, back in high school, i could grab the rim and snap it down. i'm 5'9", so that can't be all that bad. but then again, nate robinson's like 5'9"......

but, yeah, not me. though i'm still convinced if i got back into shape, i could at least get up and hang on the rim. :P

I'm 5'0, so no dunking. But I can swat a few shots, which is funny.

I get no where near

I can only get the rim. Like Matt, I'm 5-9 (with shoes), so I don't really expect to dunk it.

Im 6'2 so whenever i step on the court people expect that i can...then....i disapoint :-(

Is the question who can or who could? I know I used to be able to, I haven't tried in a while but that is because I an inthe worst shape of my life.

I could dunk a volleyball in HS, but couldn't palm a basketball. I'm only 5' 10", but I have a 6' 4" wingspan. Now I am fat.

Yeah, I can dunk. I'm a hair under 6'8 and could get pretty high back in my HS basketball days. Now I'm about 290 but I still have my moments.

I can dunk.... pretty easily. I was in the dunk contest back in my old high school days. I put on some muscle in college and couldn't dunk as well... but I can still throw it down.

Those were back in the "I like iverson' days

I was only able to dunk one summer after working out a lot, but only with palming the ball and not dribbling. Never could off the dribble. I'm 6'1" and never played bball in highschool or anything, so that's not too bad. I'm out of shape now though, and can only grab the rim. I can dunk on my rim at home, but it's off by about 6 inches too (just moved there a year ago and haven't fixed it yet).

Back in my late high school/early college hoop days, I could throw it down real well. I can't palm the ball and I'm a 6'2" WB, so not much off the dribble game dunking for me. I was a lot better at jumping off of 2 feet.

I was capable of-
1. The Chris "Birdman" Anderson alley-oop bounce pass, throw it down with 2 hands. (Didn't take me 7 tries though)
2. Try to palm it, run up with no dribble, and throw it down one handed.
3. Self pass off the glass, catch, 2 handed throwdown. (did it ONE NIGHT, about 3 times)

These days.....not so much. On a good day, I can still accomplish #2, and possibly #1, but #3 is long gone.
