He keeps a dang good following. Sometimes his stuff gets a little loud and obnoxious, but I still dig him. He's a really cool guy, too.

what do you mean by brought him into town?

I can't tell if you mean that you like drove him in a taxi or if you mean metaphysically brought him into the area through his music by promoting him with flyers and such.

Like, we paid for him to DJ a party for us. Actually, he DJ'd at one party and we brought him back 7 months later and he did a live set.

Not nearly as much as you may think. You don't make money sellling records and the only way to really get paid is to go out and DJ, but you can't do that until you sell records for a loss or no profit and then go out every night of the week and network and promote. When you do that, you might get a bunch of gigs around the D that pay NO money and maybe once in awhile go to Kalamazoo or GR and make NO money.

After you do that, you might get booked out of state and get paid, but you might have to drive or fly yourself there.

It's a lot of work to get to the point to where you fly all over the globe and what not, but to me it's not worth it and i've been in the game for 10+ years.
