View Full Version : Spurs vs Nuggets Fool 03-22-2006, 11:28 PM Anyone watching? Nuggets up 40-29 right now, 5:30 left in the 2nd. Train Wreck 03-22-2006, 11:34 PM Yeah, Denver looks good. I expected them to take this game as the Spurs played last night. Up 15 right now. Joe Asberry 03-22-2006, 11:34 PM Melo got a pigtail Fool 03-22-2006, 11:38 PM Yeah, the Spurs are really bad on the second of back to backs when its on the road (not that anyone is all that good at those). BubblesTheLion 03-22-2006, 11:39 PM Not to mention it's in Denver. It's damn hard to win in Denver. Kstat 03-22-2006, 11:59 PM we're 24 minutes away from having a 2-game cushon again... Fool 03-23-2006, 12:16 AM 3 point game now. 6 minutes left in the 3rd. The Spurs started doubling Melo and the announcer (who is that Musburger ?) slobbers all over Bowen as though he's doing it alone (when Melo was tearing him up one-on-one the whole game). Fool 03-23-2006, 12:33 AM Crawford just gave Evans a tech to give the Spurs the lead. Now anything the guy does Crawford calls him for. Shockingly Legler is calling him on it. You gotta be a douche for Legler to be calling you out. Fool 03-23-2006, 12:38 AM LOL Manu just takes the ball out of a Nugget hand after a defensive rebound, then gets all cocky setting up the offense whitout even looking at the D and Patterson rapes him and causes Flopopilli to turn it right back over. Hillarious. Fool 03-23-2006, 01:02 AM I've seen about 8-10 Nugget games this year. Melo's been off in maybe 2 of them. I know its an old story already but his offensive game is so much more authoritative this year. Gone are the possessions where he sits there dribbling for 5 seconds obviously deciding whether to drive of rise up where he is. Gone are the listless jumpers where he looks like he's only shooting because he has the ball in his hands and he'd rather he take the shot then somone else. Now its get the ball, take a quick scan of the situation, make the move. If he's going to rise up, he does it off a quick move or immediately after getting the ball. His jumper almost never looks like just the last resort of a failed drive (which it was rather often last year). If dude stops being a tool off the court, count me a fan of his. Fool 03-23-2006, 01:09 AM Ugh, the Spurs act like dudes ripped their face off after every foul. Much like Tay always takes 3 minutes to stand up after getting hit on a drive or Chauncey always acts like he's falling out of a tree when someone comes up from behind him. Fool 03-23-2006, 01:15 AM Musburger is clueless about this game, saying Bowen is out in the crunch in favor of Finley because the Spurs need offense. As though the Spurs would even think of putting the ball in Finley's hands at this point in the game instead of Parker, Manu, or Duncan. Like Bowen isn't more of an offensive threat in that corner waiting for the dish out than Finley wandering around the inside of the arc hoping no one on his own team sees him. Bowens out because he's been non-existent on Melo th whole game (though in my opinion he should be in anyway since Finley is a joke). Kstat 03-23-2006, 01:16 AM Nuggets 104 Spurs 92. Hello 2-game cushon again! Fool 03-23-2006, 01:17 AM That's game. Nuggets 104-92. Spurs two down and tied with the Mavs again. Thanks for the cushion Melo. H1Man 03-23-2006, 02:22 AM I've seen about 8-10 Nugget games this year. Melo's been off in maybe 2 of them. Melo has been popping up all over the place in 82games' stats, including the all-important "Game Winning Shots" category. Pharaoh 03-23-2006, 09:22 AM He is having a fine season. If he can do it all again next season and keep his off-court troubles to a minimum I might even be a fan. It looks like he took all those Glenn Robinson/Fatty Walker comparisons to heart and worked on his game. Kilo 03-23-2006, 10:53 AM George Karl is the best thing that ever happened to Carmelo Anthony. Now they just need to get rid of thug life Kenyon Martin, and Melo might become a very good professional basketball player.
