The Detroit Pistons snapped a recent stretch of poor play at the expense of one of the league's worst teams.

They'll get a chance for consecutive wins for the first time in more than two weeks when they visit another struggling team, the Toronto Raptors.

The Pistons had lost three of five after winning six straight from Feb. 14-Feb. 27, but beat Charlotte 94-78 on Sunday.

The win lifted the Pistons to a 3-3 mark after opening the season with a 47-9 record.

"We don't expect to go out there in one night and be back to where we were a couple months ago," said Detroit center Ben Wallace, who had eight points and 15 rebounds. "We have to build that."

The Pistons need 14 wins in their final 20 games to break the franchise record of 63, set in 1988-89 when they won they won their first championship. This also is the start of a three-game road trip for Detroit, which has dropped 10 of 12 away from the Palace of Auburn Hills.

"This is step one, but we don't want to be at step 10 right now anyway," Pistons coach Flip Saunders said. "We have a few weeks yet before we want to be at step 10."

Richard Hamilton had 24 points for Detroit while Tayshaun Prince added 23, the first time he's scored more than 20 points since Feb. 8, when he had 22 in a 97-87 win over the Clippers.

"It's been a long time since I've touched the ball that many times," said Prince, who entered the game averaging 13.6 points. "Once you get going some nights, you can keep things rolling for yourself."

Although the Raptors have gone 22-26 since starting the season 1-15, they are still languishing near the bottom of the Eastern Conference.

The Raptors snapped a six-game road losing streak by beating Philadelphia 111-97 on Tuesday night. Chris Bosh had 31 points for Toronto, which used a zone defense to stop the 76ers, who played without Allen Iverson.

The Raptors also made six 3-pointers in the fourth quarter to win for the second consecutive time. Before the modest streak, Toronto had lost nine of its previous 10 games.

"They had control in the third quarter, but when we move the ball, we're a good basketball team," Toronto coach Sam Mitchell said. "We only have four guys who can make 3s, but we work on it all the time."

Bosh, who is averaging career-highs of 22.6 points and 9.3 rebounds, posted a career-high 37 points against the Pistons on Dec. 27, but the Raptors lost their fifth straight to Detroit.

Toronto is only 4-15 at home against Detroit in franchise history, but two of the victories came in the last three meetings.

We gotta step it up. Since Delk got here we've been 3-2 and 3-3 in our last six. Not Piston Like at all. LOL...theres even talk of Miami making a surge to catch us. Good motivation material IMO for a few fickle sportswriters to predict us falling off and letting Miami catch up..

If we finish strong on this 3 game road trip we'll only have one multi game road trip to do for the rest of the season(2 gamer miami and the Ordarko Magic). Plenty of home games to knock out.

The Raps have won 2 in a row, but are only 12-19 at home.

They give up more than 102 a night, so I think a 105-87 prediction may just be in order.

I'm becoming a Delkaholic. Dude is pretty solid.

Tonight's over/under on Pistons three pointers is 16. Hopefully at least half of them will be Piston Belle Ringers.

Aww yeah, Blaha will be in the hizzouse.

miniwave is clever, though probably not too appropriate.

Delk is definitely a shooter as opposed to a scorer - his dribble penetration is out of control and usually leads to a turnover. He definitely isn't afraid to shoot the ball, something our second unit needed.

Evans was useless as usual. Delfino would be so much more effective given Evans' minutes. Is it wrong to hope for an injury to Evans? Nothing major, just long enough to force Flip to give Delfino a solid 15 minutes for a stretch of games??

Looks like our 8-man rotation is set though. Delk, McDyess and <cringe>Mo Evans.

It seems like we are making a concerted effort to get McDyess and Prince the ball and forcing them to take shots. We'll be better for it come the play-offs.

Mo Evans is completely useless out there. I'm really getting frustrated with Flip. He is so much worse than Delfino that it is painfully obvious.

I love delfinos game and so im not gonna come on here and say "play delfino" cause am totally slanted to him over evans. But i see that some of you agree at least that he is the supperior player. Evans to me is just an overpaid Ronald Dupree who can hit a 3 once in a while. I wish we woulda just kept him and traded evans. Then Delfino woulda been forced to play.

Ohs well....Delfino will get pissed and jet the second he can..and i cant say i blame him. At least he doesnt bitch like darko used to

Can we waive Mo? Seriously, I like the guy, but come on. He's a garbage time player or a rotation player on a bad to mediocre team. Delfino getting a DNP is sickening.

We waive him, and we'd add Fred Hoiberg. However Hoiberg simply cannot play the three, meaning Delfino would have to get all of Tay's back-up minutes. However in such a scenario Tay would probably start playihng 43 minutes a game, and we'd go small and have Rip at the three for the remaining five minutes.

I swear Delfino must be boinking Flips daughter.

OR maybe...

Carlos Delfino is our super secret play-off weapon that Flip is keeping under wraps as so Miami or SA cannot possibly plan for him until it is too late. MUHAHAHAHAHAHA

Good game.

Why does Evans continue to get PT?

I want to have sexual relations with Tony Delk.

Mo Evans needs not to play.

MORE DD AND FINO!

They give up more than 102 a night, so I think a 105-87 prediction may just be in order.

damn the Raptor for running up the score....
