forbes calls him the #194 richest person in the world, with ~$3.5 BILLION.
i knew he had a lot of loot, but i was thinking hundreds of millions...
3.5 billion and he wont pay the fucking luxury tax.
ps: that list is well worth exploring. i think i could spend days looking through it.
Darth Thanatos 03-10-2006, 01:55 AM Cheap ass motherfucker.
But that's how the rich stay rich. But he doesn't have to be that cheap. :(
(WTF THE SMILEY WON'T SHOW)
Glenn 03-10-2006, 05:51 AM FYI- He hides all his cash in his ginormous ears.
Actually, the Members Only jacket makes a lot more sense now. I mean, those things have, what, 3-4 extra pockets in them? Stuff a billion in each and you are good to go.
Great list to start my sugar mama hunt. Hell for the right price I might start looking for a sugar daddy a la Anna Nicole.
Doesn't Davidson have a hippy-wannabe son who wants no part of Daddy's riches as well??

Look for something older and don't sign a pre-nup. I'd grunt over a Granny for a few years if it meant I'd be filthy rich by the time I was 30. Then I could have a 21 yr old for the rest of my life.
Pharaoh 03-10-2006, 12:17 PM I'd hit it
You can't be fucking picky when you're talking about billions.
I'd fuck Bill Gates for a billion dollars.
You would too and you know it.
It doesn't make you gay - it makes you smart and filthy fucking rich.
$1,000,000,000 means I own the Pistons!
Fuck all y'all for thinking I was gay.
I hunt you down and have you killed slowly.
Don't worry though, you'd have company.
BIG BEN'S FRO 03-10-2006, 02:09 PM Pharoah, I thought you were gay long before that post ;)

I hate when people say things like that. He got that rich by make good business decisions, not by paying the luxury tax to keep overpaid bench players that usually had no impact on the game.

In 1 1/2 years we'll be able to put this topic to rest... if one of the starters is moved for an expiring, then we'll know Mr D won't pass the threshold.
I don't think going over the hard cap means your team will fail like the Knicks.... most of the teams going over the Lux cap have had excessive player turn over... no stability on the roster.
The new CBA reduces the penalty (negligent teams share the distribution).
For a veteran team in contention the hard cap should not be used as an excuse to move your core.
A couple years ago we got stuck losing the lux tax distribution by some miscalculations on the BRI.... we went over the threshold by approximately Darvin Ham's salary (one expensive scrub).... I'm sure that chaffed Mr. D's ass... So Joe has to be a little more careful...
At least they know the cap before the year starts now.

WASHINGTON — The estate of the late William Davidson is taking the IRS to court in what could be one of the largest cases of its kind, with representatives of the Bloomfield Hills billionaire claiming the agency is wrongly trying to squeeze nearly $2 billion in taxes out of the estate — if not more.
MikeMyers 06-21-2013, 11:20 PM Too bad he wouldn't pay for the luxury tax, now he has to pay the IRS.
Uncle Mxy 06-22-2013, 06:07 AM Between this and the Pistons, there's strong evidence that he never really planned to die.

You're right. Usually people of his calibre plan this stuff years in advance. Maybe he wasn't all with it during his final years.
