JackTalkThai 03-08-2006, 12:16 PM So Alex...tell us how you really feel.

Junior Alex Legion, one of the state's top recruits, said this week playing for Country Day has never been fun. He also questioned whether his team has what it takes to win the Class B championship.
Legion's AAU coach, Tim Green, said Legion's unhappiness might spark a change of schools, possibly to Oak Hill Academy (Va.), at the end of this school year.
Legion is averaging 18 points, six rebounds, 3.5 assists and 3.5 steals. Legion said he's not involved in the offense enough.
"No, it's not fun," he said.
"If you didn't know much about Country Day and you came to watch us play you wouldn't know I was their best player.
"I don't think I should come down and shoot every trip down the court. But the offense should go through me where I could get everyone like Darnell (Brown, a sophomore guard) and Charles into position where they could get open looks.
Baker 03-08-2006, 02:08 PM I wanted Legion before. So glad he's not going to State now. Everything I hear about his attitude is bad.
Jethro34 03-08-2006, 04:15 PM You know, with comments like this, I actually wonder if he'll even end up at Michigan. I'm not saying I think Michigan would back out on him, because they need talent badly enough that they can't really afford to do that. But, if he leaves the state for his senior year and gets comfortable away from home, what's to say he doesn't back out of his commitment and go to a Big East school that starts giving him love?
And by the way, if you want people to know you're the best player on the team, Oak Hill might not be the place for you.

To Amaker's credit, Legion has displayed a good amount of devotion to him.
theMUHMEshow 03-09-2006, 01:09 PM Legion's mom in on the phone with the Sports Inferno right now.
JackTalkThai 03-09-2006, 01:55 PM Legion's momma basically agreed with what Alex said.
Moodini31 03-10-2006, 12:24 AM Now I see why getting a commit from a 5 star recruit can actually hurt your recruiting.
Baker 03-10-2006, 03:45 PM If Legion goes to Oak Hill, say goodbye to him. Michigan offers the value of being able to play close to home and that's about it. If he is already out of the state, he'll play ACC or Big East ball.
Jethro34 03-10-2006, 09:36 PM While I don't trust the kid, he went on record as saying that even if/when he does transfer, that he's still going to Michigan. Time will tell.
JackTalkThai 03-13-2006, 01:00 AM Alex's mom was on the radio on friday and she echoed those sentiments Jethro. They both seem to be extremely committed to Tommy.

Based on my expectation that UoM will miss the tourney again, and Amaker could easily be fired, that might not mean much.

That's the prob, I think Tommy is packing his bags.
Jethro34 03-13-2006, 11:47 AM State fans spoutting off about crap they don't know about again.
Try listening to the Michigan AD. He has gone on record multiple times within the past week saying that Amaker's job is absolutely safe. In fact, he said Amaker will be there longer than he will. So unless you think the alumni are going to get Martin fired, you can let up on whether or not Tommy wil be in Ann Arbor.

I said AFTER NEXT YEAR.
Jethro34 03-13-2006, 01:33 PM That's fine that you said after next year, but tnhat still sounds like you think something major will happen to make Martin change his mind within the next 12 months. Sure, that's a long time, but knowing Martin he'll be giving Amaker a long leash next season considering he's losing a strong senior class and Martin is an over-apologist (like me) for the messy situation Amaker inherited.

You are right, I don't know shit about the Amaker situation. The furthest thing from my sports mind right now. But, I just assumed that he'd be gone after another disappointing season. This isn't trash talk, what has he accomlished other than running a clean program?
He should be thanked for cleaning things up and let go. But, if his job is safe then I'm a happy man!

I don't think that Martin will stand for Michigan being one of the longest out of the tourney major conference teams in the nation. I think that Amaker is 'on watch' now. Michigan doesn't like showing turmoil outside(i.e. football coaching staff) until it is all said and done.

It's true. During the Minnesota game Musberger said he talked to Martin and Martin was just going off about Amaker saying he was completely safe. Tommy's going NOWHERE! I'm not sure how I feel about that though.
Baker 03-14-2006, 08:31 AM How long does Amaker get? He's losing with his recruits. His reputation hasn't changed. Brings in big recruits, doesn't win with them. He's had what? 5 years now?
Hey, like I said though, it's fine with me.
