Sports Illustrated did a survey of all the players in the power conferences in many different categories. One player was selected from teach team to cast votes within his conference in 15 categories. The voters were granted anonymity and could not vote for their own coaches or teammates. At least three votes were needed to include a category winner. Here are the results for the Big Ten. I'll include the quotes on the Michigan and Michigan State guys.

I'm surprised Terrence Dials didn't win the strongest player award since he's a beast. Marco's a beast as well so I can't complain.

The Paul Davis stuff is a joke. The guy averages nearly 20 points and 10 boards a game, yet he's overrated. The dude that was quoted sounds like some jealous little girl.

I was very hard on Davis for his first two seasons, ever since, he's been a stud. He's an All American, but according to the poll he's overrated? What a joke.

Dee Brown the best defender? What? He's maybe the hardest TO defend. He's a decent defender, but is he really the best?

Yeah, he actually is in my opinion. He is a very good on ball defender and generally gets a lot of steals off the ball as well.

Don't take too much of this stupid poll seriously though. They asked 1 player from every team the questions. So this poll consists of 12 opinions. You could ask another 12 guys the same questions and get completely different answers. It's dissappointing that SI didn't ask like 5 guys from each team or something like that.
