View Full Version : One of the coolest things I have ever seen
Glenn 02-27-2006, 09:39 AM For those of you that missed it on TV.
A high school kid with Autism that served as the team manager got to play in his first game at the end of the year. Wait until you see what he did.
I wish I could have been there to cheer for him.
Watch the video. It's unbelievable.

yeah, that was all over the news. i got goosebumps when the crowd rushed the court and mobbed the kid. i can't imagine how the parents felt, seeing how the school was cheering for the kid and how his story spread across all sports outlets.

Mikey 02-27-2006, 12:25 PM Wow.
That is AWESOME.
Hermy 02-27-2006, 01:09 PM How does someone on the opposing team not drop an elbow on this kid after the first 3? Gotta send a message.

Or, you can drop a crate of toothpicks courtside. He'll be counting them all quarter.
LOL, those two hurt my soul.
Anthony 02-27-2006, 02:31 PM Yeah, I saw this on TNT a few nights ago. They need to fire that coach. 20 points in 4 minutes? Why hasnt he played all year? Shit...

No kidding. Absolutely amazing. At my school, we'd all be suspended if we mobbed the kid like that.
Dude just tore it up. Makes you wonder what the other team was THINKING that last four minutes.

It makes me wonder why he hasn't played at all before this game.

Don't know if you guys are joking, but I'm pretty sure the other team was in on it. I think the game was decided before he came in so the other team was more or less laying off the kid. Not trying to take away from anything he did, he still had to make the shots but it's not like they were going out of their way to get in his face or steal the ball.

Yeah but if you watch the video in the link it looks as if the defenders are right on top of him. And like you said, he still had to make the shots. Very very heart warming story.
Cross 02-28-2006, 04:49 AM It would have been cool if he made his first shot.
Very cool and hopefully he'll see some PT next year.
Koolaid 02-28-2006, 04:51 AM i would've sat the game out if that kid came in.
I'm not going to be the bad guy that blocks the kid's shot, and i'm definitely not going to be the guy that stands there and lets the kid pop threes in my face. Can you imagine how much shit you'd get from your teammates if a handicapped kid schooled you like that?
