Nets clear cap room, send Jackson to Hornets

ESPN.com news services

The New Jersey Nets have agreed to send center Marc Jackson and forward Linton Johnson to the New Orleans Hornets in exchange for Bostjan Nachbar, ESPN.com has learned.

The deal is pending league approval.

The Nets' motive for the deal was to get under the tax level to sign Tim Thomas if and when the Bulls buy out his contract.

The Hornets acquire some much needed size in the veteran Jackson.

Tim Thomas? The Nets need a PF not a weak SF.

Tim Makes sense. He's a SF/PF who will stretch the defense. gives them five bonefide jump shooters on offense in their starting 5 and a zone defense that relies on you to miss jumpers. Sounds like nets basketball to me.

Remember they dont think in terms like other more well rounded teams. they are gonna just try to make you miss jump shots and get their break going.
