Artis Gilmore 02-18-2006, 09:54 PM YES!!!!!!!! 1 FOR 3
LETS GO NATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
wtf was josh smith doing!?
he puts the tape down a foot BEHIND the FT line, making it look like he's taking off from there.
he does a two handed FT line dunk, which was good by itself, but everyone's like, "why did he put the tape there?".......making the dunk worthless.
Koolaid 02-18-2006, 10:17 PM Josh smith cracks me up. what was that about?
maybe there was like a little dent on the court, and instead of replacing the wood they figured they would just put some tape over it.
Holy shit. Igoudala just did the best dunk of the past five years easily. That was unhuman, this dude is a cyborg.
AI2...........that dunk was SICK.
nate robinson sounds like he's 15 years old....
nate robinson going for the Jrich........off the backboard, between the legs......omg.
alright.....after 6-7 missed attempts with the same dunk, just lay it up and call it a night.
nate robinson has RI-freaking-DICULOUS vertical.
Black Dynamite 02-18-2006, 10:38 PM igoudala and nate both nailed some sick ones.
Black Dynamite 02-18-2006, 10:40 PM lmfao@kenny smith purposely setting up a sudden death dunk OT. and of course kenny smith screaming is hilarious
i don't know if AI2 has enough tricks in the bag.......he needs something no one's ever seen to bring the house down.
the crowd is totally pulling for Nate to win this won.......AI2 needs to do something unique.
wow.....that some bulllshit.
the judge next to Kenny Smith was a dumbass the entire time...he was looking at what Kenny Smith was holding up before voting. for the last dunk, he put up a 10, while the others put up 9's. i think that would have tied it. but then he saw what the others put up and changed it to a 9, lol.
Nate Robinson wins.
Artis Gilmore 02-18-2006, 10:53 PM I dont even know. Both of them were screwed some way. Nate should have won in the first place. Igudala's dunk to send it to a tie breaker was not a 44. I would have gave it a 40. And Nate's dunk took 14 tries! and ended up in the end not that great.
But, Nate won and I went 50% for my picks. Lost the 1st 2, won the last 2. Sweet.
Artis Gilmore 02-18-2006, 10:54 PM BTW, Igudala's behind the Back Board dunk was fucking crazy. I was shitting my pants.
Black Dynamite 02-18-2006, 11:02 PM BTW, Igudala's behind the Back Board dunk was fucking crazy. I was shitting my pants.
Steve is a diaper dandy baby?!

Koolaid 02-18-2006, 11:14 PM if nate had bigger hands to grip the ball those would go in on the first try. Almost all of his misses clanked off the back of the rim because he can't palm the ball.
He did deserve to win though. I'd even say he's better then spud. Igoudala did the best dunk of the night, but Nate beat him all around. Even with the misses, I could watch him dunk all day.
Also even though that behind the backboard dunk was the best in terms of skill and athletic ability. That Spud Webb assist jam is more memorable to me, there's some symbolism in have Nate jump right over Spud, It's like a baton was passed right there.
a 7-footer won the three point shoot out and 5-footer won the dunk contest.
Artis Gilmore 02-18-2006, 11:14 PM IT'S AWESOME BABY!!!!!!!!
UncleCliffy 02-18-2006, 11:15 PM LOL@Steve putting meat puppet lyrics in his sig. That is soooo 1994.

That's Nirvana.
Anthony 02-18-2006, 11:20 PM Today I am prouder to be short! Nate is sick. Cant the pistons trade cato for him? I'd go to the game just to see if he gets a dunk.
Artis Gilmore 02-18-2006, 11:23 PM LOL@Steve putting meat puppet lyrics in his sig. That is soooo 1994.
That's Nirvana. It's the Meat Puppets, but Nirvana did it live.

That's Nirvana.
WRONG. Meat puppets wrote it but Nirvana covered it in their unplugged session.

oh, i was close though.
Don't matter really, either way i support him quoting rock music that's at lest a decade old. There's no good music to quote from the rock genre anymore, so do your thing.
I just watched the replay on my DVR.
AI2 should of won or at least another dunkoff, based on the fact that one of the judges changed their score.
Though his last 2 dunks were the same, at least he made them within 2 minutes (Nate took 14 tries, fucking stupid).
I noticed AI changed his 2nd to last dunk from a behind the back to the other side to between the legs, then his last was a between the legs to the other side.
Totally rigged.
BTW, what the fuck was Josh Smith trying to do [smilie=angry.gif]
Cross 02-19-2006, 01:56 AM Rigged. The judges are fcking dumbasses.
That AI2 dunk should have been saved for the last dunkoff.
Nate took over 10 tries...worse than Andersen.
Cross 02-19-2006, 01:58 AM Oh yeah, the 3 point competition was messed up. So damn low scoring. Billups had 12, which wasnt that big of a surprise, he had it going in the beginning.
Cubans a fucker
Moodini31 02-19-2006, 02:42 AM I "Tivoed" it too and actually the judge does not change his score. He puts up a 10, then puts it down while all the other scores are still up, then puts his 10 back up. I watched it over a few times. IMO, Iguodala had the dunk of the night with the backside of the backboard oop from AI, but Robinson had the most impressive repetoire of dunks. Sure, it took him 86 tries to put them down, but when you look at the dunks they put down, Robinson deserves to win.
WTF was up with [smilie=bigshot.gif] ? It looked like he didn't even care. I know it's not the NBA Finals, but he was just way too non-chillant, shooting all arms, not using his legs. I guarantee I could put up 12 points. But it's all good. Looking forward to Flip coaching 4 Pistons on the floor in the ASG tomorrow night.
BTW, Barkley was hilarious. [smilie=applause.gi: "I bet AI shoots it when he gets the ball." "OK, guys in the truck, can we please see Damon Jones's suit?" Reggie Miller-"Gonzaga is my darkhorse pick for the NCAA title." Barkley-"There's nothing dark about that team." [smilie=rofl.gif]
flipscrackers 02-19-2006, 10:17 AM I enjoyed when Barkley and Miller were discussing if the Knicks would be able to win the NCAA tournament with this year's team.
Koolaid 02-19-2006, 10:27 AM BTW, Barkley was hilarious. [smilie=applause.gi: "I bet AI shoots it when he gets the ball." "OK, guys in the truck, can we please see Damon Jones's suit?" You missed the best one.
When Nate brung out Spud he said something like "I don't know if you can give him any extra points for jumping over a short guy"
Unibomber 02-19-2006, 01:56 PM Nate deserved to win and Barkley was hilarious.
Oh, and Lorenzo Romar, Nate's old coach at UW, came to my hometown to watch our HS basketball team play. What a fuckin' MAN.
I have to echo the sentiments that Barkley was the best part of the show last night. Has there been an explaination for the Josh Smith tape job yet?? The foul line dunk wouldn't have been enough anyways, but to mark off a spot and not use it really hurt him. There is no way he could have dunked if he jumped from there though, I don't know why the announcers even considered it.
I think AI should have won - I have when guys take so damn look to make a dunk. Also what the big deal about putting it through both legs before making the dunk?? AI2 should have did a cartwheel that led to him chucking it off the backboard for crying out loud.

Timing and composure.
