View Full Version : Dave Chappelle on Inside the Actors Studio Mikey 02-13-2006, 10:29 PM Some good shit in this interview. Anybody else watching? Anthony 02-14-2006, 12:09 AM God, that guy is so damn funny, and he's a smart mother fucker. Great great interview. I hope its on again, i'd like to record that shit. Vinny 02-14-2006, 01:22 AM Thursday night. Anthony 02-14-2006, 11:08 AM Thanks. UncleCliffy 02-14-2006, 11:14 AM LOL@Mikey watching a tv show and Anthony replying that he's watching. Probably on the same tv too. HAHAHA Anthony 02-14-2006, 12:18 PM I watched on my TV in my room. I didnt know mike watched. UncleCliffy 02-19-2006, 07:00 PM Anyone going to see the new movie coming out next week? I think I'm going to see it when spring break arrives in a couple of weeks. Looks funny as hell. Anthony 02-19-2006, 11:44 PM I plan to see it as well. Looks great. Koolaid 02-20-2006, 12:07 AM I think alot of peope are going to be pissed after seeing the new "chappelle movie". From what I understand he just organized a big concert in New York and filmed it, so most of it is The roots, Fugees, ETC. performing. So if you're expecting an hour and a half of "I'm Rick James bitch!" you'd be upset about that most likely. Anthony 02-20-2006, 12:09 AM I know what it is. And fuck that Rick James skit, already. Good lord, I hate when people take funny stuff and beat it into the ground. UncleCliffy 02-20-2006, 12:14 AM Yeah, I didn't really factor that in. I'm sure the reviews will tell us how long the concert is. If its like half the movie then I'll probably just download it somewhere and watch it. Black Dynamite 02-20-2006, 12:38 AM the movie is pretty obvious in what it is. half comedy/half concert put together by Chappelle. I'll go see it. the groups are listenable and Chappelle is hilarious. Koolaid 02-20-2006, 12:56 AM the movie is pretty obvious in what it is. half comedy/half concert put together by Chappelle. I'll go see it. the groups are listenable and Chappelle is hilarious. I agree, but the thing you gotta remember is that Dave Chappelle is a crossover wonder. His audience exceeds a Fugee's/Roots show by ten fold. Alot of people who like Dave probably hate their music. MOLA1 02-20-2006, 12:59 AM I love the Fugees, Roots and Chapelle. Should be great. Black Dynamite 02-20-2006, 10:41 AM the movie is pretty obvious in what it is. half comedy/half concert put together by Chappelle. I'll go see it. the groups are listenable and Chappelle is hilarious. I agree, but the thing you gotta remember is that Dave Chappelle is a crossover wonder. His audience exceeds a Fugee's/Roots show by ten fold. Alot of people who like Dave probably hate their music. the fugees have a fan base beyond the beyond. you're off on that one. the most popular hip hop artists of the mid 90's were them, tupac, biggie, and snoop. honestly they were getting a ton of pop acclaim. and the fan base carried over into lauryn hill's first project which sold a ridiculous amount. they were atleast 5 times platinum. As far as the roots are concerned. they wont hurt anybody seeing it with the other artists in the lineup. if it does. oh well fuck em and too bad [smilie=artist.gif] ...i dont think he ever worried about appeasing the widespread audience any further than himself and his co writer neal brennan anyways. So why would that change now? If they like it, cool. If not, oh well. He's at his best doing shit the way he wants to do it, so i expect it to be a good piece regardless. |
