I am sure this will get swatted but I need a place to vent. I have been in EL Paso less than a week but I can't stand the Mountain Time zone. It is the red headed step child of TV programming. Networks do nothing to accomadate the MT television watchers. I mean at least in the Central time zone primetime stuff starts at a reasonable time 7pm, but in the mountain time zone it starts at 6pm.
The pacfic time zone start times would be better. It is just unreal by the time we have gotten done with running around for the day, eat dinner and get settled half of the prime time programming is over.
Then after the news is over at 10pm, you have only until 1am to watch most stations because the infomercials start up because in the EAST it is 3am.
Now this wouldn't be bad if there was something outside on the town to do but on base, and just outside of Fort Bliss everything closes at 9 or 10 because they go off EST schedules.
Last night my brother and I went to get dinner, all the close by fast food places were closed at 9:00 pm, so we had to drive 29 minutes to find a KFC, which was out of everything.
On a postive note, the chicks around here per capita >>>>>>>>>those in Metro Detroit.
Side note after watching the 1:30pm Pistons game and wanting to throw the TV, we drove to the border and watched people try to get close to the electric fence it was rather funny. BTW the Rio Grande is a joke, I have seen more water in urinals.
