Has their ever been a team that has been a top 5 team for the past 15 years in a sport? The thing is that Yzerman/Chelios are over the hill and we'll get even better with free agents/youth next year. Fuck San Antonio and the Pistons front office, the Red Wings are Real Madrid with the budget of Crystal Palace.

Yeah, I was actually thinking this a few days ago. No matter how old these guys get, they always seem to pick up great free agents and draft the best young talent out there. Its crazy

Everyone knows about their FA's signings but they don't get a lot of credit for their drafts.

Everyone keeps saying that the Wings run is over, but they keep proving everyone wrong. I'm sure they'll figure out a way to continue to be a contender when all our guys retire. Don't forget about how bad the Wings were in the 80s, though.
