View Full Version : Hey, kids, what do you listen to these days?
Vinny 02-07-2006, 01:46 PM I have to update the jukebox at one of our places with some newer music, and I'm kind of clueless on what's gone on in the music world the last 2-3 years. Can you guys give me some suggestions on what the "hot" new albums are? We mainly go with alternative stuff, rock or rap/hip hop.
Keep in mind that it has to be kind of universally accepted so stuff that's too nichey can be a no go. (I don't mean that everyone has to like it, but it can't be something so off the wall that people are going to be like "wtf is this??".)
Target market is like 21-25 year olds.
Your help is greatly appreciated.
WTFchris 02-07-2006, 01:54 PM sorry, I listen to the same type of stuff now that I did 2-3 years ago.
Metallica, Megadeth, Ozzy, Led Zeppelin, ACDC, GNR, etc.
I like some of the newer rock (POD, Nickleback...certain songs, Linkin Park) and some of the not as newer stuff too (Pantera, Korn).
Can't help you with any hip hop stuff though.

Yeah, that's my problem, too.
Anthony 02-07-2006, 02:36 PM U looking for uptempo music people can dance too? Or just the kind of stuff that you can chill too.
Also, try http://www.billboard.com
And look at the hiphop/rap/pop rock charts.
that'll give you a good idea.
MoTown 02-07-2006, 02:42 PM Just add nothing but The Baha Men and your jukebox will be all set. Did you know they have about 6 albums? It's impossible to get sick of "Who Let the Dogs Out?"
(If I hear that Goddamn song again heads will roll...)

don't listen to the radio, bitch about the state of music and then proceed
to rip on the groups they once loved because their song was on FM.

Cross 02-08-2006, 06:07 AM Seems like everyone is into rock. I was into the rap genre. I dont get an update on shit so i just listen to songs over and over and occasionally, get a few new ones.
Anthony 02-08-2006, 11:14 AM I'm into both. More RAP than rock though. In fact the only time I listen to rock is when I really really really like the song, or when my brothers dont have headphones on.
