...and all five won the title that year.

Is the season over?

History says so.

Five teams in NBA history have started a season 35-5 like the Pistons have this season ... and all five wound up winning the championship.

The 1995-96 Bulls (72-10), 1971-72 Lakers (69-13) and 1996-67 76ers (68-13) opened with 37-3 records en route to a championship. The Bulls also started 35-5 in 1996-97 (69-13) and 1991-92 (67-15) and won it all both times.

Over-confident much? Me thinks we are prone to a first round upset. This team just doesn't play with much urgency, even when down. Also I think we're beginning to rely too much on Billups.

Alright, we may not win the title, but first round exit? [smilie=anxious.gif]

W O W.

When you're the best team in the NBA, its hard to give a fuck about the bottom feaders of the NBA. You know, Teams 2-29. They just arent on our level. Why gas the guys early. Some poor team might think they have a chance in the playoffs.

I actualy share the worry that we may be becoming to Billups-reliant, but first round? Come on now.

No matter what, the first round will be an anal rape violation of our opponent.

The reason I say first round it because that's the best chance a team could catch us off guard. We'll be brimming with over confidence and a team could sneak up and bite us in the ass - especially if such team fell to the eighth seed because they had injury issues to deal with. Cleveland gets Hughes back, Indiana with Jermaine O'Neal are two examples, also Philly is a tough match-up for us with Iverson, Webber, Dalembert, Igoudala and Green/Korver/Salmons.

Jesus Christ.

You were the same chicken little in 2004 when we lost to the Pacers in January.

Sucks to be you.

the pistons have lost 5 games all year and you think they'll lose 4 in 7 to a 500 team?!?!?! its not happening.

Unless, of course, my nine all-stars fall victim to nine separate misfortunes and are unable to play tomorrow. But that will never happen. Three misfortunes, that's possible. Seven misfortunates, there's an outside chance. But nine misfortunes? I'd like to see that!

Its possible a team could steal one or two games, but the moment it goes to "2", the overconfidence will be gone and we'll take care of business. Like whne last year's Pacers went up 2-1, then BAM, two straight blowouts.

I was just talking to DVC and he said ........

how priceless is that?

As for Kilo, I really hate it when fans equate the fans being overconfident with the team being overconfident.

Just because Uncle Cliffy has his spot reserved on Woodward does not mean that Ben Wallace has his spot reserved.

This team is driven and focused like none I have ever seen.

Last year they were coming off a championship and were not nearly as focused and they still came within 5 minutes of winning another title and you're worried about them taking a 1st round team lightly in a year when they clearly know that they have a chip on their shoulder?

This team is in no way going to take anyone lightly but the funny thing is, they would still win a first round matchup in 5 EVEN IF THEY DID.

Barring a serious injury to a key player or a KG trade to a contender, the only team that has a shot to beat this team in a 7 game series is Phoenix with a healthy Amare

I know kilo's strategy.

Always be negative and then when they do lose he'll act like he knew all along.

Everytime I open his posts, I know he's going to say something negative. Either predict a loss, Wallace is too old, they can't hit Ft's, team is relying too much on triples, Darko is a superstar and he just needs to be on a different team. Its always anti-pistons. I think he has a tough time of giving love to his own team. Maybe something happened in his childhood and he's afraid to get to close to something so he attacks it.

I'm actually the same way on a game by game basis. Just about every day at work I'll say " I think we're due for a loss tonight"

When I'm right I say 'I told you so"

When I'm wrong like usual I say " Like I was serious"

It's so clear now. After stomping milwaukee in the first round of 04 and philly in the first round of 05 and doing a phenomenal job taking care of business against bad teams this year in the regular season... the pistons will suddenly do the exact opposite in 06.

I can see exactly how logic led you to think that.

It's funny when i think about it now because the pistons do have a giant chip on their shoulder this season, and it's funny because the only guy who may of had a bigger chip was MJ from getting beat up by the pistons.

That can't just be a coincidence.

Thanx for the dime store analysis. You are pretty accurate actually.

A brief history of CM Kilo - I was put up for adoption as a child, and then abandoned by my adoptive parents and ended up in foster care where I was ritually abused until the day I ran away at 13 to live on the streets. I had to whore myself out there to survive, and was only "loved" by the hour and then kicked out of the car to be alone again. I only had one real friend during this time, a sidekick named Buddy, but even Buddy left me one night when he jumped off a bridge. I breifly had a dog while on the streets, we did everything together until one day I woke up and he was knawing on my leg and I realized he was only running with me so he could eat me when I died. From that day on I swore off any relationships, and now only converse with myself and even that voice hates me most of the time. I live though the internet now as it is very impersonal and nobody really knows anybody else. I am just a name on the screen and you are the same - nothing more. That is the only way I could handle it.
