Glenn 01-28-2006, 09:20 AM I think we all suspected this, but here is further proof.

Fred Hoiberg's first choice, if he decides to play this season after heart surgery, is reuniting with former Wolves coach Flip Saunders in Detroit. The Pistons, though, obviously don't have a huge need for new additions at this point and Hoiberg is thought to be leaning against trying a comeback before next season.
Mikey 01-28-2006, 10:59 AM Uhhh...who cares?
The only reason I would have had any interest is if Miami was his second choice. He sits out for the year is absolutely fine by me, and actually a better case scenario in my opinion.
JickBoy34 01-28-2006, 12:37 PM I can't see wanting to flat out release anyone on our roster to get him. If there was some trade where we gave up 2 guys to get 1 better guy and had an open roster spot, I would be all in favor of a pure shooter like the mayor. As it stands right now though, I'd rather try to keep developing Acker.
DrRay11 01-28-2006, 12:40 PM Hoiberg < Pistons. That's about it.
Anthony 01-28-2006, 12:42 PM If we still needed that 3pt bomber off the bench, i'd be all for this. But with Moe Evans hitting that corner 3, and Delfino hitting them from everywhere, there is really no need.
I don't care to have him here (Delfino and Mo should get the minutes), but let's hope he doesn't go to Miami.
the only way I see this happening is moving arroyo back (wouldnt get equal talent) and signing hoiberg. If we couldn't make room for atkins, why would we make room for hoiberg?
Won't happen, team is dope as fuck as it is.
Cross 01-28-2006, 08:45 PM I dont see why it matters if he goes to the Heat...
They do lack a 3pt shooter but i doubt Hoiberg will make 6 off the bench. He's still injured and IMO, he wont make a huge impact.
Besides, we have Delfino,MO,Ripp,Billups, and even Sheed to shoot that 3
Train Wreck 01-28-2006, 09:23 PM Yeah, don't the Heat already have Jason kapono for that role?
I do like Hoiberg and would probably dump Acker to get him but I wouldn't sign him just to keep Miami from getting him. I don't like him THAT much.
Wizzle 01-29-2006, 04:14 PM So the Mayor wants to be a Piston....why is this news? Just add him to the list of about 150 other players in the NBA.
The Irony 01-29-2006, 05:25 PM I think Freddy H is irrelevant and wont be a factor to any contender in the league, except maybe dallas...
i do have to the right to change my mind though. [smilie=arrgh.jpg]
Hermy 01-29-2006, 05:49 PM I would also like to be a Piston. Someone alert RGMs wiretap.
Black Dynamite 01-29-2006, 05:57 PM So the Mayor wants to be a Piston....why is this news? Just add him to the list of about 150 other players in the NBA.

Glenn 03-06-2006, 08:00 AM Hoiberg not ready.

Former Timberwolves guard Fred Hoiberg, who is still sidelined after undergoing open heart surgery last summer, said it will be some time before he plays this year if he does decide to play. Hoiberg said he realizes that it will be difficult for whatever team he might play for to get insurance on him. "I would probably have to sign a waiver," he said Sunday. "[Former San Antonio forward] Sean Elliott played after he had a serious kidney problem. I talked to him and he had to sign a waiver." Regardless of whom he plays with this year, Hoiberg, who because of NBA rules can't play this year with the Wolves, said he wants to be back with the Wolves in 2006-07.
