The Red Sox got Coco Crisp, Josh Bard, and David Riske for prospects Andy Marte and Kelly Shoppach and Guillermo Mota, who was once upon a time a serious prospect for the Marlins.

Who gets the better end of this deal?

Personally...I'll say Cleveland because they just keep getting better and better. It's as though the Sox are trading for the sake of trading. Is Crisp REALLY that big for them?

Well Boston certainly needed a CF and Crisp will work, probably better defensively than Damon was. But Cleveland getting Marte is the big deal. If the Tigers could have swung it I would've given Granderson up for Marte and started Logan in center. Marte is a top 5 league prospect and future star at a position that is much more difficult to fill than centerfield.
