I'm kind of surprised that thomas moved this far too. it's really sad that Big Frank isn't more revered in Chicago. He did such amazing things for the first half of his career and has been more than solid since, he's just had some injury troubles.

On the other hand, this is just a classic Billy Beane signing here. Frank Thomas still has tons of power and still can post a huge on base percentage.

When you've played in the windy city your whole career, ain't nothing wrong with taking your ring and going to Cali. I'm fine with him being out of the division, and I think he should have a nice season in Oakland. Good fit for both the player and the team.
