There are a ton of interviews with players here, but this section I found very informative on rising and falling stock:

http://sports.espn.go.com/chat/chatESPN?event_id=10519

Buzzmaster: (1:55 PM ET ) OK, here's Todd McShay! He was at this morning's practice. Ask away.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
bel Mobile AL: How was Brodie at practice today

Buzzmaster: (2:01 PM ET ) Brodie Croyle was improved in today's practice. In my opinion, he was the best QB on the South roster today, including Darrell Hackney and D.J. Shockley. Shockley has really struggled as a passer this week.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Chris (Baltimore): Where do you see Sinorice Moss falling in the draft? He has first-class speed, but can he overcome his height? Did he continue to impress today?

Todd McShay: (2:03 PM ET ) Moss has been the most impressive WR at the Senior Bowl this week. He is easily the quickest and fastest player on the field for the South team. The only defensive back that has come close to matching up with Moss is his teammate, Kelly Jennings, who runs in the 4.40's and also knows his tendencies after practicing opposite him the last few years. I think Moss' height will keep him out of the top-20 or so picks, but I think he has solidified a spot in the late-first round with his excellent play this week.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Chris (Lacey, WA): Better NFL QB, Aaron Rodgers or Jay Culter?

Todd McShay: (2:04 PM ET ) Cutler. He's bigger, stronger and smarter. His arm strength is excellent and his accuracy will only improve with better coaching and polished mechanics.

Todd McShay: (2:05 PM ET ) Cutler is clearly the best QB at the Senior Bowl this week, and it's safe to say that he's making ground on Matt Leinart and Vince Young, the top-two QB prospects in this year's class right now.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tom (Ithaca): What's your take on Greg Blue? He's got a surprisingly low scout rating for someone who's such an athletic ballhawk. Is he raising his stock much?

Todd McShay: (2:07 PM ET ) This week has helped me confirm my initial thought that Blue will be a better fit as a WLB in the NFL than he will be at DS. Blue is a big-hitter with good instincts in run support, but his range in coverage is poor and his hands are miserable.

Todd McShay: (2:08 PM ET ) I think Blue will land in the second round to a team like the Colts or Bucs that use smaller personnel on defense and can use Blue at OLB.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tray Lake Charles, LA: How is Joe Addai of LSU looking and where do you see him going in the draft?

Todd McShay: (2:09 PM ET ) Addai has looked FAST. He is a versatile back that catches the ball well. When he turns the corner as an outside runner, Addai is gone. His lack of production in college and his durability issues will hurt him on draft day, but I think Addai will come off the board in the second round.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Eric: Are there any Ted Washington type DTs in the Draft? What round do you think Michael Robinson will be drafted in?

Todd McShay: (2:10 PM ET ) Oregon's Haloti Ngata isn't at this game, but he's a Ted Washington type. Michigan's Gabe Watson is the only similar style of DT in this game, and he has had a monster week. I think Watson has possibly elevated his status to the late-first round range... he's been that impressive this week.

Todd McShay: (2:12 PM ET ) As for Robinson, he's been one of the big disappointments this week simply because he hasn't moved around to other positions outside of QB. He clearly shows no upside as an NFL QB. I think Robinson will come off the board in the middle of Day 2 as a versatile athlete. It's too bad that he hasn't taken advantage of this opportunity to show NFl personnel scouts what he can do at WR or RB.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Michael (Stillwater, OK): Is Reggie McNeal at the senior bowl this week?

Todd McShay: (2:14 PM ET ) No, but McNeal had a phenominal week at the East-West Shrine game. He actually was the game's MVP. McNeal showed a strong arm and helped his cause as a QB prospect, but I still think his future is as a WR/return specialist in the NFL. Robinson, McNeal, D.J. Shockley and Brad Smith (Mizzou) may all be forced to switch positions at the next level.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Joe (DC): what would you think of watson going to cleveland at number 12, is that elevating him to high?

Todd McShay: (2:15 PM ET ) Way too high. Watson will go no earlier than the late-first round because of his inconsistent play at Michigan

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Nick (Oxford, Oh): How is Nick Mangold doing and where do you see him being drafted?

Todd McShay: (2:16 PM ET ) Mangold has jumped out as one of the best interior offensive linemen at the Senior Bowl this week. I think he will be the first OC selected in this year's draft, likey early in the second round.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Chris (Chicago): What's your prediction on Maurice Stovall after seeing him in practice this week? Sounds like he's been impressive. Still 2nd round, or has he played his way into the first round?

Todd McShay: (2:19 PM ET ) Stovall has had a great week. He is trimmed down and looks quicker. His rare combo of height, arm length, top-end speed and ability to adjust to the ball in the air makes him a vertical mismatch waiting to happen. I think Stovall's lack of explosive burst and his inconsistent collegiate career will keep him out of Round 1, but Stovall should be a second-round pick.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mike (Madison): Who would win if you arm wrestled the buzzmaster?

Todd McShay: (2:20 PM ET ) I'd go with buzzmaster. You'd be surprised how strong buzzmaster is... I'd guess he gets 40 reps of the standard 225-pound bench press...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bryan (Wauchula, Florida): Hey Todd, How are the 3 guys from Florida State performing thus far..Wimbley, Bunkley, and Watkins? Are they improving their stock?

Todd McShay: (2:23 PM ET ) Wimbley has helped his draft stock the most of the three. He's undersized and would fit best as a 3-4 OLB, but his speed and athletic ability make him an intriguing 2nd round prospect. Watkins has not impressed much.... he's tall and a bit stiff. Bunkley did not practice today because of an undisclosed injury at this point... he was in shorts, jersey and helmet, so it can't be too bad.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Nic (Mt. Pleasent): How many questions do i gotta ask before one of them gets answered?

Todd McShay: (2:23 PM ET ) a lot.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mike, Naples: Ok, this might sound stupid, but where is Matt Leinart in all of this? Isn't he a senior?

Todd McShay: (2:25 PM ET ) He is but he's not playing in the Senior Bowl. Carson Palmer did a few years ago and solidified a spot as the No. 1 pick. Unfortunately, Leinart did not follow in his former teammates' footsteps.

Todd McShay: (2:26 PM ET ) I've got to run off to the second practice now. Thanks for all the questions and I'll look forward to "chatting" again tomorrow. Be good to Buzzmaster, he's fiesty and you don't want to get on his bad side...

I will laugh my ass off at all the Vince Young groupies if Cutler gets taken before him. I doubt that he would but possible.

I am so sick of hearing about Jay fucking Cutler. He is that QB that everyone is going to hype up and he is going to blow ass...it happens every fucking year.

Agreed. If you have to pick your quarterback up from Vanderbilt University, you are in trouble.

Just remember Big Ben came from a MAC school, Culpepper from Central Florida (i think), Farve was from a small school too. Mcnair wasn't even division I.

Vandy is at least SEC.

I don't know whether he'll be good or not, but the success of the football program does not always apply.

And remember this:

Mike McMahon's the guy

It doesn't matter that he never won shit and never threw over 50% in college - he was a great quarterback on a terrible team, that's all.

(I'm not comparing Cutler to McMahon - just saw my opening and took it)

Maybe this will make Jay Cutler go away. This comes from Bob Gaunt who occassionally writes stuff for Mlive.com as blackhat24...

There's such a collection of loose ends today that I'll list a number of short items that describe today's events.
There were some developments in the PM QB picture that were interesting. Penn State QB Michael Robinson spent about half of his time working as a wideout, not looking too bad in the process.

At the same time, Jay Cutler was quite erratic in his passing, at one point missing six straight connections on medium routes with no coverage or pass rush. He remains the strongest armed guy in the entire group, but his lack of consistency may have cost him a bit. One AFC scout told me that "I would not draft him in the first round".

I actually hope Cutler does well at the Senior Bowl and the Combine and thus propel his draft stock into the Top 10. That way some team (like the Jets) can take him and make a guy like Ferguson, Mario or Hawk drop to us.

Also I don't understand why the Lions are not actively scouting at the Senior Bowl.

Or some team who thought he might be there in the 10-15 range might trade up with us. My suggestion would be to trade down to 14 or 15 and grab that team's 49th or 50th pick as well.

Get an OT in the teens (Justice might still be there), a LB in with our second rounder (Hodge? Carpenter?), and Giles with our other pick (unless there is a good DL there).

Instead of trading down, I would rather use our picks from next year and one of our WR's to pick up an extra first rounder (Denver has two) or a early second rounder.

The Lions don't have anyone at the Senior Bowl workouts? This is disturbing if true. Jesus Fucking Christ do we need a good draft. [smilie=annoyed.gif]

Not true, Coach M III was there all week along with Lions coaching staff members that had not gotten fired yet.

I should have made myself clear when I said that.

The Lions were present at the Senior Bowl but they didn't have as big a presense at the Mobile. Given the state of the team, one would think that they would arrive way early and observing as many players as they can.

Millen and Marinelli were there and who is to say that the Lions didnt have scouts there.

Marinelli is more of a watch people on tape sort of guy. I bet he watches 40-50 hours or tape a week up until draft day.

I think the Lions should trade the #9 for broncos 2 1sts and a 4th.

This draft is way deep.

I'm working on a deal in a user mock right now where I trade the 9th and 73rd pick to the Dolphins for their 16th, 48th and 80th picks. Basically I trade down in the first a third a few spots to get an extra second.

Since Ferguson will be gone, I fell I can still get Winston Justice or Tambi Hall at 16 rather than reach for either at #9. The teams before #16 will be wanting RB's, TE's, etc so I think one will be there. If Chad Greenway slipped I would think about him too.

Two second rounders would allow me to take Giles (controlls DT's very well), which would allow Woody to go back to center or in case we lose Kosier. It would also allow me to get a LB or another defensive playmaker (assuming I went OT in the first)...or Eric Winston if I didn't get my OT yet. Then pick 80 would be for the best available player (non WR or RB).
