from the daily dime

Smith (Dallas): Personally I think your Power Rankings are boring. As a Mavs fan, I know that unless Detroit has a major meltdown, there's no way the Mavs will be No. 1. They might sneak up to No. 2 every once in a while if the Spurs slip up. Otherwise I know they'll be No. 3 on your list, week in and week out. How 'bout moving the Mavs up just to spark some controversy? They're really hot right now!

Mike (Palatine, Ill.): As a lifelong Detroit fan, I'm almost getting bored with the Pistons being on top of the rankings every week. It means I can't complain about a lack of respect any more!

Big Ben readies to dunk over KG in Detroit's 107-83 win. The Pistons' dominance has prompted some users to lobby for a drop from No. 1 in Marc Stein's Power Rankings, just to spice things up .

damn people never said this when other teams held it down. but i guess power rankings werent as popular then.

I am finding myself becomming bored. I can turn off large portions of most games now and feel like I didn't miss a thing. This is something I can't ever recall doing in the many years I have been watching. Where's the drama? It's almost a surprising when they don't win by 20 points. Wake me up when the playoffs start. This coming from a 6 year season ticket holder.

nothing boring about chasing history.

if they fall off pace, i'll probably lose interest.

How can you say it's boring to watch the Pistons throw down on some hapless chumps? The best part of that game last night, aside from Chauncey's ridiculous display of shooting, was when the guys who barely play got in there and watching the bench go apeshit for them.

I was flipping between the Red Wings and Pistons last night, and even though the Red Wings were in a 1-1 tie late in the third, I kept going back to the Pistons blowout. It was just more entertaining to me.

It's not as dramatic, but I find it just as entertaining.

DOes this belong in the things your ashamed to admit thread?

I fell asleeep before 8pm last night and missed the game, then got up for a bottle for my kid at 2:30 am, and jumped on the computer to check the score while the bottle was heating up in the nuker.

BTW: I watch the games from beginning to end, but because the Pistons have a tendency not to show up for the 1st quarter of almost ANY game in recent memory, I keep threatening (myself) that I'm going to be like them and not show up until the second quarter, either.

I should of added that it's possible that having a new baby and enjoying a new business opportunities could shift my attention away from the Pistons some. I just miss the days of climbing the mountain, but in no way would I give up being king of the mountain.

Careful Melo, nukers heat the bottle unevenly and can cause areas of the milk/formula to become substantially hotter then other areas, burning the childs mouth even when the bottle is "checked".

I still find it just as interesting. Especially because the more frequent blowouts are giving us more and more glimpses of the future. We are seeing Delfino much more, and getting tastes of Maxiel and Amir too.

I think it's that much more fun to see how teams play their ass off and we still win.

I doubt USC or Texas football fans get bored of blowouts.

My son likes the bottle shaken - not stirred.

Shake the fuck out of it, and there can't be any "hot spots".

(And I've got it down to a science at 33 second, not a second more, not a second less).

i still love watching them. i haven't been able to watch games since i work part time at night.......therefore i seem to appreciate watching the games, when i can. blowout or not.

lately, i've been more interested in watching our bench play during the regular season.

i don't think i could ever get bored of watching them, though.

I think at this point I watch just for blow outs in hopes of being able to see more of our lesser knowns: More Mo, Delf, JMAX and Darko...and personally, that Amir dunk last night made my week. I think I've become officially spoiled. More than likely, most of us are, but ain't it great?

Yeah, id rather watch us grind out 82 games like we did under Rick. That was much more fun.

When the Lakers had their big season in 2000, it was just assumed that they won. It didn't help that Phillip kept saying "the season starts at playoff time", suggesting that the reg season was nothing more than a tune up.

Great way to keep fans interested, eh?

pistons had times in the past where they dominated the other teams like they are doing now. most notably right after the sheed deal.

Back then people (including myself) would watch the blowout and then wait to watch Darko. Now it should be the same but maxiell, acker or johnson (and of course STILL Darko). Really, ain't a thing changed.

The Pistons almost lost this last Bucks game and in whole I don't think the game was more entertaining then the typical easy wins. Sure the last couple seconds of both regulation and OT were exciting and a bit dramatic but the entire game the Pistons were just letting the Bucks back into the game. Watching the team build and then lose an 8-10 point lead was mostly frustrating as the team would play flawlessly for a 2-3 minute stretch only to lose focus defensively/offensively or just generally F-up and let the Bucks cut it to 2 again.

In general, watching the Pistons stomp the throats of a team they are obviously better than is much more entertaining to me then watching the team struggle to use their superior talent and skill.

I think there's a balance. Every once in awhile we need to see our boys snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. It's a nice compliment to all the blowouts.

The games are boring.

The only reason I watch is to catch Maxiell or Darko at the end in a blow-out. I like to see Delfino too.

That being said.......... I love this.

Being out state and only watching games on cable,I can say I dont find them boring at all.

I would like to know how the Heat, Suns, and Lakers can be on TV more than the Pistons.

People don't "like" the Pistons.

They are the "Bad Boys" 2.0

I love the fact that those "pretty" teams are gonna get FUCKED UP by our pipe-hitting team.

I love the blowouts because we get to see young guns at the end. For some strange reason, I find that to be the best part of the game.
