Guys this has happened to me a few times...at Crisler arena and at school. Sometimes when I go wireless, my computer will sign on but it will say "limited or no activity"
Today I was sitting in class and my internet just started dragging ass and sucking balls. It still said i was connected and i had an excellent signal however i got that stupid ! sign that said there was limited or no connectivity. this did not effect anyone elses laptop that was wireless...
anyone know what the deal is.

Go to your network connections and click repair.
Go to your network connections and click repair.
if you have a little wireless icon (the little computer scren) in your system tray (lower right corner), you can right click that and click repair, too.
and if all else fails, try rebooting your laptop.

Yeah. That too.
And, if that dosnt work, contact who ever runs the network and have them reset it. Sometimes that works.

An apartment building I manage has the same problem and it drives me absolutely fucking crazy. We spent a fortune installing a wireless network and it won't friggin work right. If anyone's an expert on this stuff, please PM me. We have a Linksys router and access points and they're so inconsistent it drives me batty.

i know you wanted a PM, but i figure this might be good knowlwdge for all. have you tried updating the firmware on the router and access points?
when you buy them, sometimes they have old firmware right out of the box.
goto the hardware's site (linksys.com) to find the latest ones.
for anyone who doesn't know, firmware is basically the computer programming instructions that are stored in the hardware.

Its also pretty hard trying to get a good connection when stairs and lots of walls are involved. Have you tried moving the access points around?
Sometimes stupid shit like that will work.

- Powercycle your router. Most of the time that resets the configurations and it should fix it.
- Reset your TCP/IP stack. Use WinsockXPFix.
- Also SP2 is known to cause this issue from time to time. There is a patch to fix it though.
