View Full Version : Google sells out Gecko 01-24-2006, 10:47 PM Google sells pride and freedom of speech to make a buck... http://www.breitbart.com/news/2006/01/24/D8FBCF686.html Koolaid 01-24-2006, 10:52 PM whatever. google is a site that serves a purpose to the people that they hope to profit from. this is a logical business move, they are business after all. UncleCliffy 01-24-2006, 10:54 PM I agree. I'd do the same thing. Anthony 01-24-2006, 10:54 PM Yeah, but whats wierd is that i've heard someone tell me that the guys who started google have billions and billions, and still live like poor shlums. They live in a crap ass appartment, drive crap ass cars, and the people who work for google are binded by contract to live by the same standards. No hot cars, no big houses, until they retire. This makes me wonder how true that is? Seems fucked up to me. UncleCliffy 01-24-2006, 10:57 PM Thats not true. They bought their own fully loaded 747. JS 01-24-2006, 10:57 PM Not that I have anything to hide, I just hope they don't fold on the search result tracking idea. Kilo 01-24-2006, 11:16 PM Google champions themselves are something other than money grubbing though. This just says that they are just like the rest. However on the other hand China is too big a market to give the ol F-U to, and they probably feel they could do more good being there than not being there. Maybe I'm gullible, but Google's founders seemed legit when I watched a special done on them and the company. Walking away from such a market would be a suicide business decision and what good is Google if they are out of business. Kilo 01-27-2006, 06:35 PM A Tale of Two Googles - Google Image Search "Tianamen" results in China (http://images.google.cn/images?q=tiananmen) Google Image Search "Tianamen" results in rest of free world (http://images.google.com/images?q=tiananmen) Anthony 01-27-2006, 07:23 PM Thats not true. They bought their own fully loaded 747. You mean people are lieing to me!!!!
