Matt 01-24-2006, 07:36 PM ooohh......hopefully it's a blowout and we get to see Amir and Mad Max. thanks for the heads up, Lee. Gecko 01-24-2006, 10:37 PM I am very psyched about the future of this franchise after watching Amir tonight. So raw and talented. Black Dynamite 01-24-2006, 10:39 PM I am very psyched about the future of this franchise after watching Amir tonight. So raw and talented. so far our frontline of the future is johnson at the 3, darko at the 5, and maxiell at the 4. with an iffy chance of acker as our 1. thats some serious length. Ok reality check set in...I am no longer psyched if darko's on the team. Black Dynamite 01-24-2006, 10:47 PM I am very psyched about the future of this franchise after watching Amir tonight. The Homer Thread Anthony 01-24-2006, 10:49 PM Its not a homer thread till I post in it. AMIR>JORDAN! Ok, now its a homer thread. Black Dynamite 01-24-2006, 10:50 PM Its not a homer thread till I post in it. AMIR>JORDAN! Ok, now its a homer thread. thats bs Amir>>>>>>>>>>Jordan. Anthony 01-24-2006, 10:52 PM DARKO>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>WILT ANDRUSSEL! This team has the sickest future in front of them. I see a perfect season in the future. Black Dynamite 01-24-2006, 10:58 PM agreed with pharoah, but.... amir>gerald wallace [smilie=antlers.gif] Koolaid 01-24-2006, 11:08 PM with all the talk of the pistons possibly getting 70 wins this season imagine what a team with the acker, darko, maxiell, johnson lineup would do. I'm predicting 83-0 (they will find a way). Pharaoh 01-24-2006, 11:22 PM So you guys take it to a whole other level because one person called you homers? You guys are worse than Knick fans. They think Frye is their future franchise. It took them less than half a season to come to that conclusion. It took you guys 3 minutes to come to the same conclusion about Amir. Homer bullshit and because I called it you guys act like children. Whatever GotCrotty? 01-24-2006, 11:37 PM No need to take offense to it Preach, I think they were just messin around. Anthony 01-24-2006, 11:44 PM No need to take offense to it Preach, I think they were just messin around. Yep. Although, i'm very excited about both Mad Max and Amir Pharaoh 01-25-2006, 12:09 AM I'm not taking offense to it. Just makes me shake my head when apparently intelligent individuals respond like little kids when someone points out the obvious. Instead of providing evidence to back up their claims of why Maxiell, Amir and Darko are the future it turns into a joke thread. Why? Because they know there is no evidence to back up their homer shit and now have to duck and run. Why would I take offense when it's been proven I'm right? the wrath of diddy 01-25-2006, 12:11 AM Maxiel>Amir>Darko CindyKate 01-25-2006, 12:50 AM I'm not taking offense to it. There's a reported lack of humor bone from down under. Pharaoh 01-25-2006, 01:20 AM Not really CK. The thread started as a legit discussion about our bright future. When I called people on their homer shit they obviously realised they went too far and took it further, thus making it a joke thread. No one said "Yeah, we fucked up". Instead they just post more jokes and hope no one notices they were fucking loons. Excuse me for pointing that out. I did it because every time Mikey posts something fucking stupid he's drilled for it. I guess it's OK to make fun of Mikey - we've been doing it for years. But he needs to know that when other fuckers post bullshit someone will call them on it. Cross 01-25-2006, 08:27 AM I think a year of college would have helped Amir alot but screw it, hes on the Pistons. I dont think Acker could be considered for our future yet. He hasnt really showed much. Actually Amir didnt show much except his windmill and block. Black Dynamite 01-25-2006, 08:31 AM No one said "Yeah, we fucked up". i think you're reading it wrong. the response probally meant"we didnt fuck up, we werent even calling them a guaranteed future. just speaking hypothetically about what ways the younger players could be useful in the future, even said that it probally wouldnt be that good an offensive frontline at all. you took it as homerism. instead of arguing about a worthless subject we took the route of humor. since when did it become intellectual to fight over every damn thing? Kilo 01-25-2006, 12:13 PM Speaking of statements - rookie Amir Johnson made his NBA debut and his first basket was memorable - a windmill dunk. “When I saw Darko (Milicic) steal the ball, my eyes got real big,” said Johnson, still only 18 years old. “There was only one thing on my mind. I was going to windmill it. I will remember that one.” b-diddy 01-25-2006, 12:27 PM Tuesday's Best Detroit F Amir Johnson: Johnson's windmill dunk, on a fast-break lead pass from none other than Darko Milicic, accounted for the 18-year-old rookie's first NBA points . . . and gave the Pistons a perfect capper to their 24-point rout in Flip Saunders' triumphant return to Minnesota. from espn's daily dime. i think its safe to say that amir johnson is blossoming at the right time. geerussell 01-25-2006, 12:48 PM Instead of providing evidence to back up their claims of why Maxiell, Amir and Darko are the future it turns into a joke thread. Time to adjust that hair trigger before you blow off a toe. Talking about the pistons future frontcourt starters is right up there with mid-season "If the playoffs started tomorrow..." it's just something to kill time with full understanding that everything can and probably will change in the meantime. Darth Thanatos 01-25-2006, 12:55 PM That dunk was fucking sick! I went apeshit in my room. Varsity 01-25-2006, 01:17 PM Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, children of all ages... WTF Detroit proudly presents to you ... The Homer Thread [smilie=donthate.gi: LMAO Taymelo 01-25-2006, 01:57 PM My two cents: Some people were acting like these guys are the future starting lineup of the team, when they are nothing more than raw prospects at this point in there careers - nice raw prospects, but raw prospects nonetheless. Having said that, its nice to see Amir get in the game and not only get the dunk, but what I liked was the block he made immediately thereafter. I'd love to see Flip work Amir and Maxiell into the games more to save our bigs' legs, and try to develop them from raw prospects into NBA players. Also, out of all the prospects on this team, am I the only one that thinks Acker is pure garbage and does not have much NBA potential at all, but gets hyped simply because Arroyo is only so good, and Hunter is injured? I agree with your last statement. I dont think he has what it takes to make it in the NBA. But thats based on what I saw of him in pre season. Who knows? Alls I know is that J Max is going to be a player, and that Amir has a hell of a chance to be a good player too. Taymelo 01-25-2006, 02:33 PM Also, out of all the prospects on this team, am I the only one that thinks Acker is pure garbage and does not have much NBA potential at all, but gets hyped simply because Arroyo is only so good, and Hunter is injured? damn all i spoke on was his length because like you i've never seen him play. so how exactly do you know he's no good?~lol~. he kept missing shots on your nba live 06? [smilie=arrgh.jpg] [smilie=angel.gif] Its based on the limited minutes I've seen him play in the preseason (as well as his draft status). I haven't timed his speed, but he looks to me like a gumpy, awkward, slow, shooting guard with only enough height to be a point guard, but not enough speed to be a point guard, thus making him the last pick in the draft, who has people hyping him up, meanwhile we picked a guy several picks ahead of him in the draft the year before in Ricky Paulding, and he's not an NBA caliber player, yet people keep jocking this year's last pick in the draft, who looks to me like the 15th guy on a crappy team's roster that gets eaten for dinner by Chauncey when the really crappy team has injuries and is forced to play him. How's that for a run on sentence. Black Dynamite 01-25-2006, 03:55 PM so its based on nothing then? [smilie=applause.gi: Taymelo 01-25-2006, 04:14 PM so its based on nothing then?
