You haven't had a real gyro until you've went to greece. The meat obviously tastes better from the authentic gyro spit, the pita bread is deep fried to make it nice and crispy and their are french fries in the sandwich. Its off the chart madness.

Please change the title to Gyros thread. Whoever made the original title obviously doesn't know much about food.

Change it yourself. I thought "Cliffy's Official Coney Island Thread" would
sound much funnier and it does. "Cliffy's House of Gyros" sounds pimp too.

Okay how do you pronounce it -
A]Rhymes with hero
B]Guy - row
C]Gy as in Giant or Gyrate - row
D] "G" - row

I've heard it pronounced all three ways - ignorant sonsabitches.

yeah, its pronounced like the currency in europe. the Euro.

there is a restaurant on Grand River just north of 8 mile called Cedar's. I have heard they have amazing Gyros (chicken schwarma sp? and lamb). I eat there quite a bit but I usually get the Steak and Cheese Pita (with grilled onions and green peppers) or their amazing Chicken Jay Salad.
