NY is struggling big time. Tonight they get blown out by the Hornets to lose their fifth in a row. Anyone else think that Zeke gets shown the door within a month?
Indiana is struggling. Tonight they lose bad to the Bulls at home while Rick proudly displayed his high school harry offense. You think Bird being an offensive minded player is puking his guts out watching this garbage. I say that Rick is gone after the season.

Well Rick doesnt really have much of a team...Artest and Jerm have been out for a good part of the season so far. That means their best player is stepehen jackson--
You can't blame Carlisle for Walsh and Bird making this Artest thing a fiasco. Afterall Indiana is still the 4th or 5th seed in the East.
Isiah Thomas will be fired sooner than later. However giving Brown the power is a mistake.

If Flip or Larry were the coach in Indiana, does Artest request this trade? Seems to me part of the frustration of Artest's was with the offense that Carlisle ran.

I think it runs deeper than that but that is the reason it all started.
Remember a couple of weeks ago when the Knicks won 4 in a row and everyone started to get High on them? Yeah, me neither.

When the knicks win more than 2 games in a row the media says their finally jelling. Im used to it by now. They do suck though.
Indiana: I used to hate em just as much as the next piston fan. But to be honest i dont mind em anymore. Theyv had some crazy bad luck the last two years. But i do think their gonna need to get a new coach to get any better. But who knows

Rick is buddy buddy with larry bird so i don't think he's in a hurry to make any changes there. I don't see much of a reason to get rid of him either. It wouldn't be right to punish him for Artest being a dumbass, it ain't his fault. If they canned him they'd really be saying a coach should have to be a shrink as well.
I don't think Isiah will be going anywhere either. The Knicks can not possibly be turned around in 1 or 2 seasons. This year's draft was definitely a step in the right direction though.

Carlisle has similar job security that Flip had in Minny (the friend factor). It should be quite a long haul for him in Indy, unless they have a couple horrible seasons in a row.

I'm pretty sure Bird once said that a coach should not stay in the same place for more than 3 years.
Rumors are circulating that Bird has grown disinterested in the whole front office thing. I would guess that Bird will resign at the end of the season.
Walsh will then likely either talk to Rick about staying as they re-build or if he doesn't like Rick because he made his secretary cry he will fire him once Bird is gone.
Bottomline to me as I have stated in the past, Walsh stuck with guys like Tinsley, Artest, and Bender because Bird liked them not because he did. I am not saying Walsh didn't want to win with this roster or is trying to prevent them from winning now or doesn't care about the fans but I think he wants to blow up the roster. He knows everyday Ron sits out is another day closer he gets to him being able to rebuild this roster.
As I posted at scout when this site was down, 75% of the Pacer roster had been there for more than 3 seasons. Things got stale and JO is a great second, he is not a great leader or first option. That is not a slam against him but the fact is he a lot like Sheed, neither guy can carry a team over 82 games they are better when others are the counted on ahead of them. However unlike Sheed JO doesn't have guys he can count on. Tinsley, Foster, Bender, Cro and Johnson are always hurt so neither him or the organization can count on them day to day yet week to week. Hell JO misses as much time Shrek every season.
I don't blame Walsh for wanting to blow that roster up, they are paying 75 million in a small market for a mediocre result season after season.
As for the Knicks, I will bet Zeke is gone if they lose 4 or more of the next seven. I will then put money on LB being paid a little more like 500K and he will become the GM. Or the NBA asks Dolan to hire Stu Jackson as GM.
