View Full Version : Chris Allen Press Conference
Baker 01-18-2006, 03:30 PM As expected, star Georgia shooting guard Chris Allen has scheduled a 9 a.m. press conference tomorrow morning. Allen a 4 Star shooting guard has eliminated the likes of UConn, Florida, and Kentucky and is down to two choices. Allen will choose the Spartans or the Bulldogs tomorrow. Despite names like Summers, Tucker, and Southern on Tom Izzo's list, many believe Chris Allen is at the top. Apparantly, once Izzo nailed down Lucas, Summers and Allen became his 1A and 1B choices.
If Allen chooses the Spartans tomorrow, a domino effect could likely occur with Summers announcing his decision. We'd be looking at a Top 5 recruiting class and that is without probable Spartan commit Dar Tucker. Wow! Stay tuned.

What Kalin Lucas can get his own commitment thread without people complaining but my boy Chris cannot?
What are you prejudiced against ballers that bear a striking resemblance to Arnold Schwarzenegger's arch enemy, The Predator? That's pretty bigoted of you man.

I think I remember a Legion thread.

I am curious to see where this guy goes.
However, this is not a boring thursday...the Marinelli Presser is about to start
FillyCheezeSteak 01-19-2006, 10:10 AM Congratulations on Allen. I heard that Summers committed last night to Izzo per the LSJ. The big question is what happens to Dar and Josh. Does Josh Southern go to Kentucky and does Dar go to Syracuse or do they find room for him. And would Tom Izzo go w/o a big in the 07 class?
Baker 01-19-2006, 10:48 AM YEEEEEEAYA We got him!
Interesting about Summers Filly, I hope you are right.
I think Izzo makes room for Dar. Dar is just a perfect fit at MSU and MSU is his #1 choice. I don't think Izzo needs a big man in the 07 class. As we stand right now, Raymar Morgan can play PF, Herzog is coming in for the 06 class, Sutton, Ibok, and Gray are all freshmen. I think we are set with big men.
If Summers did indeed commit and if Dar follows, I'm celebrating!
Jethro34 01-19-2006, 11:44 AM I hope Amaker starts showing up in Saginaw now. As I said in the hoops recruiting thread, I don't know why a player as in love with himself as Dar is would join a class in which he's the 4th best guard. Amaker better start showing a little more love to Tucker and Southern.
By the way, regarding Allen:
Dude looks like a lady!

You'll know he's a dude when he drops his nuts on Legion's grill. Basically take my avatar, take out Randolph Morris, insert Legion. haha

Baker 01-19-2006, 01:12 PM The Past
Allen's mother felt all along that her son would end up a Spartan if given the opportunity.
"He made this when he was younger," said Mrs. Allen holding up a piece of fifth-grade artwork, her son's rendering of himself as a member of the Spartan basketball team. "We've known what he's wanted to do for a long time. It's hard for me not to cry right now, but we know he'll be in good hands."
The Present
Like Mrs. Allen, Meadowceek athletic director Darlene Wehrnyak had a difficult time holding back the tears. Wehrnyak, who sees Chris Allen as a son more than a student, described the future Spartan as a model student and a model citizen.
"In all the time that I've known Chris," said Wehrnyak. "I can't remember one time where he was in trouble or didn't do exactly the right thing. He is a role model for this school on the court and in the classroom.
The Future
With Allen, Lucas, and Summers on board, the future is bright for Izzo's Spartans.
Michigan State's three-guard junior class will undoubtedly be the top backcourt class in the nation. That not only features three potentially national Top 25 players, it features three elite basketball players that have games that compliment one another nicely.
The potential of Michigan State's 2007 class is very high. Add to the mix the three players from the Spartans Top 10 class of 2006 and the underclassmen already in East Lansing and it isn't difficult to see the potential for multiple Big Ten titles and a run at another national championship in the future.
FillyCheezeSteak 01-19-2006, 01:57 PM Now that the three amigos are in the fold at Spartyville, how long do you see each of the players staying? I think there is a very good chance that 2 of the 3 if not all 3 start their freshman year and could do some good things for Tom Izzo. However, everyone knows that success could lead to a jump to the NBA, especially if Mo and Shannon are doing good things in the league...............just kinda wanted everyones thoughts on this!
Baker 01-19-2006, 02:06 PM No offense, but it is waaaay to early to even talk about things like that. These kids are juniors in high school. We don't even know if they will be stars in college yet. Waaaay too early
FillyCheezeSteak 01-19-2006, 02:24 PM You just pissed your pants like a queer and busted a nut over 17 year old kids, but its too early to talk about that......................are you for real elementary teacher?

I doubt 2 will start as freshmen. Summers is the only one even with a shot IMO. Contributors, all of them, but starters, maybe Summers.
In the '07-'08 season our lineup should be(based on psychic powers of course):
Neitzel(sr.)/Walton(jr.)/Lucas(fr.)
MoJo(jr.)/Summers(fr.)/Allen(fr.)
Morgan(soph)/Dahlman(soph)
Gray(jr.)/Suton(jr)/Hickson(fr. :thumbright: :thumbright: :thumbright: )
Ibok(jr)/Naymick(if RS works, sr)/Herzog(soph)
It depends on MoJo's growth, if he turns into an Ager like Tre said, he'll be there. If he stays a stick with no D, it will be Dahlman or Summers.

FYI - I'm not inclined to focus on anyone's nuts.
Either way - looks like a great class for State. I'm pretty much used to that. I just hope Michigan finishes in the top 20 classes. I don't care much where State finishes recruiting-wise in hoops because they've been higher than Michigan for a decade or so. I just want Michigan to out-recruit as many other Big Ten schools as possible, and I don't want instate kids going to the Big East or ACC. Fuck that shit. Oh, don't go SEC or Pac 10 a la Crawford, Hairston and Horford either. Sons of bitches.

Take this Michigan garbage out of here. I want to talk about the Predator!

Baker 01-20-2006, 08:39 AM Once again UM fans obsessed with the way Spartan players look. I'll never understand it. It must be rub off from their student body. Yes, I think you know what I mean. Let me give you a clue: :love1: :love8: :happy10: :bunny: :sex:
