View Full Version : What if Dee Brown had not broken his leg?
Moodini31 01-16-2006, 09:02 PM If Dee was running the point for the Atlanta Hawks, how would the Big Ten race be different?
What if Dee doesn't go off for 26 including 4 killer 3's and a leaning and 1 in the second half vs. Michigan?
What if Dee doesn't go off for 34 with 7 3's vs. Michigan State?
IMO, I think M and MSU both win those games at the "hallowed" Assembly Hall in Champaign. The win helps Michigan finish higher in the Big Ten, allowing them to earn an NCAA berth. Now with Dee back another team will finish ahead of them so I'm not so sure they get in.
State would also have a much easier road to the Big Ten title and I think they would be the favorite. But now, with Dee back, I don't know.
DetTitan 01-16-2006, 11:11 PM I can tell you one thing, The Illini would not be as good in College Hoops 2k6, and my title chances in the tournaments my friends and i would be significantly reduced.
Artermis 01-16-2006, 11:11 PM Illi would be in the bottom of the Big Ten without Dee Brown.

WTFchris 01-17-2006, 10:39 AM ^I agree. They'd probably be better than Penn State and Northwestern but that's about it.
Baker 01-18-2006, 11:55 AM Well, it's nice to think about, but just a dream.
Illinois will not finish in the Top 2 in the BT race though. Mark my words. So in the long run, it won't matter.

Bold statement Tre. I actually agree. I've got Wiscy winning the B10 and your Sparties at #2. Illinois will finish 3rd.
I hate Dee Brown. :x
Baker 01-18-2006, 04:36 PM I can't disagree with your prediction right now. But, if Wisconsin drops just one game in the next 3-4 games, the outlook will change dramatically.
If Wisconsin drops just one (hopefully tonight against OSU), that puts the Spartans one game back. I'd love to see Wisconsin in East Lansing at season's end for the title.
There is a long long road ahead though. So much can happen. I get on the Wolverinies cases for crying so I can't do too much. But, it pisses me off that MSU has Illinois, Wisconsin, OSU, Iowa, and Indiana all twice while other teams get to play some of the previously stated teams just once. Not a fair way to schedule at all.
Moodini31 01-18-2006, 07:30 PM I'd love to see Wisconsin in East Lansing at season's end for the title.
Didn't that happen once before? Wasn't there a banner hanging from the rafters the ESPN kept showing and was never unfurled? :laughing6: That was hilarious.
Baker 01-19-2006, 09:38 AM Actually it has happened 5 times in the past 7-8 years Moodini. MSU won 4 of those clinching games.
One was a 52 point blowout against Michigan. Remember, that was the game we put up 100, Mateen Cleaves set the Big Ten single game and career assist record, and we hoisted the trophy as your boys walked off the court?
Thanks for the memories.

How is a blowout against Michigan an example of Wisconsin being in East Lansing to decide the Big Ten? Seriously, Spartan logic is horrible.
Baker 01-19-2006, 08:08 PM We were talking BT clinching games in East Lansing.
I'll stretch it any way I can to bring up that game for the rest of my life. I'm still laughing about it.
Jethro34 01-19-2006, 09:40 PM Ok, whatever works. Remind me to tell you about that 49-3 game over Chuck Rogers and his Spartans. I was at that game laughing at the guys wearing orange jumpsuits with Smoker written on the back. Good times.
Dee would have been drafted in the second round just as he will be this year. He is a great college player but until this year did he handle the point that much that isn't going to translate into a high drfat pick for him . Ill would be at the middle of the pack if not for Dee they wouldn't have had any veteran leadership and got off to a rough start.

Actually, we were talking MSU games vs. Wisconsin, and they've lost 7 of the last 8. OWNED.
Odds on Tre switching the topic to MSU beating Michigan so much lately? Very good.
Baker 01-20-2006, 09:49 AM Moodini, you start a thread about Dee Brown and then you throw out a comment about Wisconsin and MSU. Who is changing topics?
Tossing out weak off topic cheap shots at State is like tossing pebbles at the castle.
I thought I was the one that hated Michigan more than I love State. Your off topic shots at State make you look like a jealous fan that is pissed about his own comedic program. :joker:
I will respond though. Before Wisconsin's success against MSU, we had the same success against them. We beat them to go to the National Championship game remember? It goes in cycles. But, I'll take two losses every year in exchange for a Final Four trip. thank you
And don't think that your comment is going to keep you from having to hear about how your team sucks.
"Odds of Tre bringing up UM-MSU? Very good"
You're damn right I'll bring it up. If a UM fan has the balls to bring up the word "owned," I will bring up the fact that we own you every time. 12-1 Who's laughing now?

Talk to me on Thursday. You're gonna say "Things done changed".
Discovery 01-21-2006, 01:26 PM Moodini, on Thursday, I will wear your Michigan sweatshirt again IF Michigan beats MSU. But that is a big IF.

Alright, I'll take that bet. Bring me some Sparty gear to wear if State wins. But, I'm feeling pretty confident. [smilie=champs.gif]
Baker 01-23-2006, 02:12 PM Why are you feeling confident Moodini?!?! Do you realize Michigan has won 1 out of the last 13 freaking games against MSU?!
Talk to me on Thursday. You're gonna say "Things done changed".
haha, you said this 3 years ago when Horton was a freshman. I remember it like it was yesterday, Moodini: "Now we own basketball!"

You better hope UM wins cuz if not, you are NEVER going to hear the end of it. NEVER! [smilie=arrgh.jpg]

Michigan still finds a way to lose as Dion Harris shits himself 4 times instead of twice in the final 2 minutes of the game. I don't like Michigan in any game that Harris puts the ball on the floor in crunch time.

The bold part is my favorite. Kinda sounds like he's getting used to wearing that maize and blue. Hahahaha. You're kinda right Discovery, winners do wear yellow - only we prefer to call it MAIZE!

I would have liked to have talked to Tre today, but he pulled one of these --------> [smilie=escape.gif]
Tre is never going to hear the end of this if he ever shows back up.
