I think so. They're one of the best teams in the league right now. Imagine how good they'll be in March when they add another MVP-type player to the roster. Sick.
A Pistons-Suns Finals would be UNBELIEVABLE.
Nash vs. Billups
Marion vs. Prince
Amare vs. WallaceX2
GO SUNS!! :toothy10:
Dallas/SA have it tough because they'll likely have to meet each other, with the winner meeting PHX in the conference finals. Amare Stoudamire isn't expected back until March, and evn if he comes back @ pre-injury 100%, can his new teammates learn to play with him quick enough would be a concern.
It will be the Nash/Stoudamire show once again, and the other players will have to find where they'll fit in. Kurt Thomas will do the low post dirty work, Marion will go back to the 3, and James Jones and Raja Bell will split minutes at the 2. Diaw will probably back up the three and four.
That is a solid as hell team. I'd rather meet Dallas or SA in the finals. Both play more traditonal styles that we match up better against. PHX might be one of the few teams that are more athletic than we are, maybe the only team.

Yes they can make it!!!!
What? They STILL don't play D?
Only chance the Suns have of making the finals is for Dallas to upset the Spurs in the second rd.

no, no more than they could now. everybody has picked up the slack since he's been gone, but that doesnt equate to them being superior when he gets back. I always said that team is good because of nash, not amare. as long as they got nash and a bunch of jump shooters they will always be a threat.

Who knows if his knee holds up. He had the same surgery Webber had and Webber is still not back fully. He is getting closer though. So I think next year would be more like when his knee is 100%.
Still dont think they can beat SA.

Yeah they play better D, but they have no answer for Duncan. Duncan on a 15% ankle last year averaged 27pts on Phoneix in the WCF. I dont think Kurt Thomas will be able to contain Duncan.

I agree in that people are talking like he can come back in March or April and play well after not playing in a year and coming off a serious injury. Not gonna happen this year.
The fact that he is only 23 is going to help immensely though.

No fucking way.
They still can't play a lick a D. They'll be lucky to make it out the 2nd round.

They have a good bench and a nice player in Diaw but once Amare comes back, those players wont be as productive. They will make the playoffs though

RE: When Amare returns, could the Suns make the Finals?
I really think they can.
So I guess I'm saying that I agree with Mikey. :?:

All we can hope from the SUns is that they give the Spurs a fight this year. hopefully the SPurs have to claw their way to the Finals like we did last year and they are too tired to play us. That and I hope Kurt Thomas takes Manure's head off.
