View Full Version : Max Martin transferring to Alabama
theMUHMEshow 12-24-2005, 09:12 PM I got word yesterday from someone within the program that Max Martin is gone. The kid is not even traveling with the team for the bowl game and he has not been practicing. He is transfering, however the person that I spoke with did not have any information on where he would be going.
Artermis 12-24-2005, 10:12 PM Yeah there have been whispers of this, which is why the Wolves wanted a RB this year.
I hear Gutz might be going DII to get a chance to play.
Mister Simpson is rumored to be out and Walton is long gone.

JickBoy34 12-26-2005, 11:18 AM Rumblings about Doug Dutch as well. He would be best served to take his short fast ass to the defensive backfield and play corner ala Morgan Trent.
Artermis 12-26-2005, 11:36 AM Yeah thanks for reminding me about Doug.
He got injured and couldnt get back in front of the two freshman. He has very good skills.
If he goes to the DB he gets buried. Sears is quite the stud of a CB and Richards is not too bad. Sears will push trent for starting CB next season.

WTFchris 12-27-2005, 10:20 AM Wouldn't be a huge surprise really. He's third on the depth chart after Hart and Grady anyway, and a good freshman RB coming in too.
Artermis 12-27-2005, 11:14 AM Actually he was fourth Jerome Jackson was ahead of him.

Jethro34 12-27-2005, 03:05 PM He would have been 2nd if he could have hung on to the ball. Great talent, but Michigan fans probably won't miss him much. It's really too bad. Fumbliciousness is a disease.
Artermis 12-27-2005, 04:04 PM Michigan fans wont miss him much becasue of Carlos Brown.
Supposedly ran 4.5 under NFL combine type conditions and 4.5 is what the NFL CB run. He is a blazer.

Moodini31 12-29-2005, 02:13 PM I won't miss Max Martin at all. I thought he was going to be a great talent, but he caught some fumblitis and had a bad attitude it seemed. With a healthy Hart, a more experienced Grady, and Brown's speed, Michigan should be looking great at HB for a long time. But we thought that before this year too, and we all saw how that turned out.
From what I've seen (his rivals.com highlight video) and heard, Brown should be a far superior player to what Martin was. He has blazing speed. :blob6: Rivals has Brown down for a 4.47.

ANN ARBOR -- Michigan will be without backup tailback Max Martin this fall, according to university officials.
Martin is transferring to Alabama -- he is from Madison, Ala. -- where he will sit out this season and have two years of eligibility.
The Wolverines also have lost backup quarterback Matt Gutierrez via transfer. Gutierrez revealed last Saturday he will play for Division I-AA Idaho State this fall.
Martin, a 6-foot-1, 216-pounder, arrived at Michigan as one of the nation's highly acclaimed tailbacks and appeared to have promise as a college back. He ran for 3,117 yards in high school and scored 17 touchdowns as a senior.
Martin played two seasons for the Wolverines but never made his mark in Ann Arbor.
With Grady and Hart already established and in the fold, I can't see this being akin to the quarterback situation with Gutz leaving for ISU.
WTFchris 01-10-2006, 10:57 AM I agree. he was 3rd on the depth chart and I think they got another blue chipper RB coming in this year anyway. U of M does have to worry about Henne getting hurt, but the RB situation will be fine IMO.
Jethro34 01-10-2006, 11:11 AM Neither one is a very big deal. Gutz leaving would be something if he had a ton of experience at the school, but he only had one more year of eligibility and not much more experience than Forcier. Martin had potential and was actually rated higher than Hart coming out of high school, but fumbles will kill you.
theMUHMEshow 01-10-2006, 11:18 AM Shouldnt this go in the MAX MARTIN is gone thread that was started 3 weeks ago?
Jethro34 01-10-2006, 11:22 AM I'm trying to find the function I used to merge the Kalin Lucas threads and apply it to the Martin threads and the Vick threads. Can't seem to locate it yet, hopefully I will soon.
Jethro34 01-10-2006, 11:24 AM Found it. Kept the more complete title.
Moodini31 01-10-2006, 12:36 PM Unlike the Matt Gutierrez transfer, I won't even bat an eyelash at this one. We're (still) loaded in the backfield with Hart, Grady, Jackson and Carlos Brown boooooyeee! Good riddance Max, you fumbling pouting jickboy!
