I do not think they are similar at all...Simms is young and actually can throw farther than Sandra Day O'Conner.

I couldn't count on Chris Simms to start for 16 games if Joey leaves. Even if he does, I couldn't count on his production either. There's a reason it's taken him Goddamn forever to start for the Bucs.

There's just no way you can compare Simms to the dinosaur Garcia. I have not watched Simms career but is it possible that they were developing him? Simms right now is better than Joey so I don't get the hate.

Chris if I remember correctly Griese's contract was structured so that it was more like a 1 year contract with several options for extra years. It's not like he got a huge signing bonus so cutting him or trading him won't hurt the Bucs cap too much.

As far as Simms goes it depends on what kind of qualifying offer he gets. He was a 3rd rd pick so compensaton isn't like if he was franchised.

you have to protect griese in order to get your full value out of him. so i dont think detroit would be a good fit for him.

I like Simms, but no way the Bucs let him go. He is their future at QB. He throws a nice ball and can run a little.

Plus he is clutch, too bad that WR didnt hang on.

assuming we have a proper offseason, our OL could be turned around a lot. If Millen is smart, he would resign Backus and draft a OT in the late first (trading next year's to get an extra one this year).

Then let the OT battle for LT or RT. Backus could move to RT or LG depending on how the rookie did. Backus, Kosier, Riola, Woody, Rookie or Rookie, Backus, Riola, Woody, Butler or even Rookie, Backus, Woody, Kosier, Butler could be a huge improvement.

You can have Peyton Manning in there and the Lions O would still suck. The QB needs a solid enough O line to offer him a shot at checking off routes. He also needs the confidence in the line to audible shifts and blocking assignments without worry.

that's why I don't get why people are talking about trading up for Young/Leinart. We have to address the OL and bring in someone else to compete with Joey outside the draft.
