Either his team cant score or he's a ball hog, or he's just that damn good.
MOLA1 01-08-2006, 11:15 AM All of the above. LOL.
Kobe's a great fuckin player.
2 things that stand out though.
In the Philly game, Kobe had 7 turnovers but shot 65 percent
and didn't miss any of his 7 three pointers! That's fucking nuts!
Against the Clips he shot an ugly 41 percent but pulled down 8
boards, dished it out 8 times and shot 50% from 3.
It looks like if he's fucked in one area he kills it in another.
When it's all said and done he might get to the Western Conference
Championships in the next couple years. He'll have to face us which
in turn will make him cry and ask us not to bring the alpacas out.
Artis Gilmore 01-08-2006, 11:54 AM LMAO!!!!
I dont think they will get far in the future unless they trade for Artest or some other help besides odom. but as for playoffs this year I think they could grab the last spot.
Taymelo 01-08-2006, 01:49 PM LMAO!!!!

I would love to see them trade for Artest, and see what happens when Kobe starts screaming at Artest and/or bossing him around like he does everyone else.
Any chance Artest would snap him in half over his knee like a twig?
Anthony 01-08-2006, 02:21 PM That would be a dream of mine come true.

If Artest slaps Kobe - lifetime suspension.
If Kobe punches Artest and breaks his eye socket - 1 game suspension, which he would appeal.
Artermis 01-08-2006, 03:12 PM Walsh is not dumb enough to trade for the nothing they would get back from the Lakers.
Now Stern might step in and make Indy trade him to the Lakers, because it is for the "good" of the league.

jealous how?
so if we dont kiss his ass we're jealous? if we dont get into his ballhogging its haterism?
kobe's a damn good player, but the lakers can keep him and his whiny attitude.
nothing jealous in not feeling his game or his attitude. whats your obsession with what people think of him? is their opinions important to your everyday life that you look frown upon anyone who doesnt endorse kobe as jealous? are you representing kobe as a pr guy for free?
Artis Gilmore 01-08-2006, 08:50 PM People hating on Kobe for no reason. What a shame. What? Kobe is my 2nd favorite player(behind NASHY EH?) I've always been behind Kobe.
But if him and Ron Artest were on the same team, kobe would brake his jaw.

Definitely.
I'm not jealous of the other 400 or so NBA players, including all the other "max" players... but I'm "jealous" of Kobe?!?!?!?
Or, could it just be that he's (1) an asshole to his own teammates; (2) an asshole to his coaches; and (3) an asshole to opposing players.
Yeah. Must be jealousy.
Artis Gilmore 01-08-2006, 09:53 PM Thats why I love Kobe, people hate him and dawg on him every night, but every night he just shuts them the fuck up. And he's humble about it too.

Just cause he knows how bad his public image is and doesn't open his mouth to the media anymore doesn't mean he's "humble" He's talented as hell, but he is the most arrogant son of a bitch I have ever seen on a basketball court.
Artis Gilmore 01-08-2006, 10:21 PM Well whos really not cocky that hasnt won the Joe Dumars award. Maybe his arrogance makes him the player he is. He probably feels that he has a lot to prove with people thinking he wanted his own team so he kicked shaq out and he can play under circimstances that his image is bad with the rape case and if you read the phil jackson book he said some things that he wasnt being a good teammate about. Well team wise he hasnt yet since he didnt make the playoffs yet, but with the team he has and the record they have, he's proven him self better than most people have thought
-NoQuarter- 01-08-2006, 10:29 PM I agre for the most part Steve. But Kobe has ZERo concept of team. That's my beef with him. He so desperatlly wants to do everything his way and by himself. That's not what basketall is about.
I truly belive if Kobe had gone to college and played ball there, learned how to have a real sense of team, he'd be a much better player.
Mikey 01-08-2006, 10:36 PM Kobe's a much much much much much much much much much much much much much much much better human being than Shaq.
That's all I wanted to say.
-NoQuarter- 01-08-2006, 10:38 PM Kobe's a much much much much much much much much much much much much much much much better human being than Shaq.

Hell no. Shaq is a very charitable and likeable guy OFF the court. I HAAAAAATE him as a basketball player though.
Kobe has neither going for him.
Mikey 01-08-2006, 10:41 PM No. Shaq is a fat, lazy, stupid, arrogant, self-centered cunt of a human being, and nothing is going to change that. Penny hated him, Kobe hated him, Eddie Jones hated him, and now I wouldn't blame Wade if he started hating him too.
Kobe's just a little weird, and takes too many shots sometimes. What's wrong with that?
Black Dynamite 01-09-2006, 12:24 AM Kobe's a much much much much much much much much much much much much much much much better human being than Shaq.
That's all I wanted to say.
how so? shaq does way more charity. kobe gives 4 million dollars to the "sorry i got caught with the bitch" diamond fund. thats his perogative to do so but to say he's better as a person than shaq is a lil odd. sounds like you're jealous of shaq. :?
Black Dynamite 01-09-2006, 12:29 AM Thats why I love Kobe, people hate him and dawg on him every night, but every night he just shuts them the fuck up. And he's humble about it too.
ummm actually he's sipping the biggest cup of stfu juice ever because of the idecline of his image and lebron getting way more nike money than him. not talking much to keep your money isnt all that humble unless half the money is going to charity instead of his wife's shopping
Mikey 01-09-2006, 12:38 AM So how much money somebody donates to charity dictates what kind of person they are? That is insane.
Black Dynamite 01-09-2006, 12:47 AM So how much money somebody donates to charity dictates what kind of person they are? That is insane.
no but how much they score doesnt either. nor does them shutting their mouth to keep their endorsement money.
Koolaid 01-09-2006, 12:53 AM What does money have to do with anything?
It seems to me that a few of you are jealous of Kobe.
Jealous? Ain't anything to be jealous of. I can get motel clerk pussy too.
Kobe put up 50 points on 40 shots, that doesn't impress me for shit. the only impressive thing about that is that his arms didn't get tired from ballhogging so damn much.
and about Artest, I'd love for that to happen. It wouldn't work for shit but i'd welcome it. Kobe needs help on his team, but he doesn't want to share the ball with anyone. Shaq, Lamar Odom... I don't care who his next teammate is, it could be Ghandi, Jesus or whoever but if they put up more then 12 shots a game Kobe ain't going to like his ass.

for the sake of perspective david robinson in his sucessful attempt to steal the scoring title scored 21 more points on only 1 more shot.
Glenn 01-09-2006, 09:28 AM Shaq is a lot more charitable IMO.
He just makes sure that there is always an abundant amount of TV cameras in the vicinity.

I heard somewhere that Shaq may become a police officer after his basketball career. Isn't that awesome!
Pharaoh 01-09-2006, 09:47 AM Envy?
I pity him.
Black Dynamite 01-09-2006, 11:46 AM i'd try and steal that hoe (kobe's wife). shes fine as hell
thats envy. not calling him a ballhog.
Funny how the younger set seems to gravitate more toward the ballhogging "me first" kind of player, while the older set respects team play more.
I guess we're just a bit wiser to not have ESPN shove players down our throats.
Also, I hate the way Shaq plays the game, but think he's a good guy off the court. I guess anyone that publicly despises Kobe Bryant is A-OK in my book.
Artis Gilmore 01-10-2006, 07:32 AM another 45, another Lakers win. So thats 143 points in 3 nights.
Cross 01-10-2006, 09:19 AM 143 points, 15 assists.
First game shoots fucking well. 19-29, 7-7 3pt, 3-4 ft. Shooting percentage: 66% Free Throw: 75% 29/82 team shots
Second game 17-41, 7-15 3 pt. 9-10 ft Shooting Percentage: 41% Free Throw Percentage: 90% 41/91 of team shots
third game 14-32, 2-6 3pt, 15-21 ft. Shooting Percentage: 44% Free Throw: 71% He took 32/80 of team shots.
FUCK his shooting percentages arent as low as i expected it to be. Kobe needs to fucking pass. He has Odom. Too bad he shows no respect towards anyone on his team
Did anyone mention jealous of kobe? Are you kidding me? Sure Kobe and put up 40 points a night but think about his assists number, number of shitty shots, and how he doesnt get his team involved except for those occasional pick and rolls he uses.
Anyone remember the day he droppped 62? The highlight was he outscored a team in the 3rd quarter right? WRONG he had 0 fucking assists.

and he doesnt care for them as much as most people would because he had to win them with shaq instead of on his own.
thats the type of ego i really dont admire. and nothing for anyone to be envious of.
Darth Thanatos 01-10-2006, 01:40 PM So does Shaq not care about his three rings as much because he didn't win it on his own? Let's be real here, Kobe was just as valuable to the Lakers success as Shaq was. Neither have experienced success without each other.

no, shaq feels just fine with his rings. he wants more but understands that he cant do it alone.
shaq would be content if he never won another title again.
would kobe? :? ...
how about you be real to me and not assume that im even taking away from kobe's contribution with shaq. if anything he does by rather wanting to win a title on his own.
Taymelo 01-10-2006, 02:15 PM GWB: Shaq wanted to stay in LA and win more championships with Kobe, even though he hated him.
Kobe wanted Shaq gone, so he could be "the next Michael Jordan" and not hear how he wouldn't be "the next Michael Jordan" without Shaq, since Michael Jordan didn't have Shaq and still carried teams on his back to championships.

You have absolutely nothing to prove that to be fact.
And Michael Jordan carried teams? Get the fuck out of here with that bullshit. He was the best player on the Bulls by far but he had plenty of help.

i think he knows jordan had help. the general perception is that he carried the bulls with minor help from pippen. and thats what he was speaking on. lamar odom is supposed to be his pippen.
but nevertheless kobe wanted to "move on" away from shaq to go for "his own" titles. he felt being shaq's sidekick for the long term would leave a rough spot on his career.

Are you kidding me? Most fans take away his contributions because Shaq was there.
And of course Kobe shouldn't be content. Who would be content? The main goal of the game is to WIN CHAMPIONSHIPS. And I'm pretty sure Shaq is not content with three titles. If he is, then he would have retired a long time ago.

Exactly. And now Kobe just so happens to be on such bad terms with "his Pippen", that Odom is the next one that will either demand to be traded or be demanded by Kobe to be traded.
Pretty soon, Kobe's gonna be on a team all by himself. And he'll be the coach, too. And he still won't be happy. And you'll find some other reason to support Kobe when its clear he's a dick. And I'll stop caring about your responses. And I'll move on.

Except Kobe's "Pippen" is not the defender, passer, or scorer that the real Pippen was. Not to mention that Odom is injury prone and has questionable work ethic. And when/if Odom gets traded, the team that received him will be greatly disappointed. He's been nothing but a disappointment his whole career, and is a sorry excuse for a "Pippen" type player.

you're taking the "kobe has a right to diss odom" stance? :?
your stance on odom is bullshit. he was doing pretty good next to wade and he is the only person consistently doing anything on on the lakers besides bryant.(smush has been very inconsistent)
i was hoping you had a better come back than "well ummmmmmm lamar odom sucks".. :? ..either way ballhogging doesnt make your team better.
if the kobmeister isnt careful, he'll be worn out with all that hoisting by seasons end. but even before that the more shots he takes the less and less of a threat the lakers become to any good team in the western conference because he's not making anyone better, and more & more i've seen them standing around watching him shoot.
once again he's just another ballhogger with basketball priorities that arent in the right place IMO. but if you like highlights thats fine. but until he actually gets other people involved like jordan did instead of bitching about them, he'll be closer to dominique wilkins in the quality of his game. on the court. great scorer, not a great leader who can get a team to the title.
and your defense for him in bashing odom just proves my point. odom wasnt brought in to beef with kobe about touches. he was brought in to help kobe. its bryants responsibility(since phil jackson doesnt have the balls to "make" kobe pass) to get the most out of him by using the defense on himself to get open set ups for odom.. same with smush and the other role players. but if you think he's the greatest for scoring a stack of points, thats fine. but dont be a chump and call other people envious or jealous for not agreeing with your love for kobe. i'd take lebron james over him in a heartbeat, he has a better overall statline and actually looks to get other people involved as opposed to dissing them for not chucking shots as quick as him.
Funny how the younger set seems to gravitate more toward the ballhogging "me first" kind of player, while the older set respects team play more.

Pretty sad coming from young guys who are Piston fans. You'd think they would know better than to cheer for a guy who is more interested in scoring titles than championships.
Now this is some bullshit.
Let me get this straight. In this conversation, if you like Shaq you like team play? The only thing keeping that train on the tracks is the incredible fact that Bryant lost a title by passing a total of 0 times in a 5 game series. Lets not pretend that the guy who's statement in every post game presser after a loss is "I didn't get enough touches", is the bastion of team play.
This is funny because I'm more used to defending Shaq from fanatical Spurs fans who like to believe that Shaq never had more than one skill (dunking) and while I like Shaq to a certain degree and like to watch Kobe's ability (I can't say I "like" Kobe Bean) neither will be rated too high on the all-time selfless players list.
Black Dynamite 01-11-2006, 12:16 AM fool no if you like shaq thats on you. i could care less for either in the end.
i dont think he was making a shaq=team play equation.
actually shaq is irrelevent to the topic outside of him being the thing kobe felt was killing his glory.
