His family's financial state is reportedly dire and that is why he's coming out. Also, the ankle injury was better than expected.

Ngata is a player who has a fluctuating stock. The problem for the Lions is that it fluctuates between the first and second rounds. If the Lions are able to snap him up in the second round, he is a steal. At the current pick, not so much. However, if the Lions were to trade down and obtain an extra pick (spent on an offensive lineman), Ngata might be very beneficial.

The Ravens will be selecting Ngata with their first round pick.

He is a monster.

If Cody could play more DE, I would love him with Rogers, would make Hall an All Pro.

What are the Ravens' needs? D-line, WR, QB (buck Foller), maybe O-line depth, MAYBE S. The first two are more than likely going to be addressed.

Lions+Ngata= you can't run the ball.

I would love to see us get him but it is obviously not our main need. Still the thought of him and Rogers is scary.

BTW, does anyone know if the N is silent in his name? Is it pronounced N-gata or Gata?

It's Nata. Silent G.

I'm bumping this up because Haloti's mother, Olga, whose suffering health was part of the reason he declared in the first place, died yesterday at the age of 44.

RIP Olga Ngata.

I feel for Haloti. Big time.

By the way, the Ng in his name is pronounced the way you would pronounce it in rushiNG or passiNG. Polynesian. Feel it.
