I like Michigan basketball and Michigan State football as well.

Basically, if I'm watching a game and the other team has "Michigan" in it, then I'll root for them.

I'm the same way. Always rooting for Michigan teams, whether it's my beloved Wolverines or the Grand Vally State Lakers. Of course, when they play each other it might get a little sticky, but it generally goes UofM>Eastern Michigan>MSU>Everybody else.

Sorry Jethro than hate on me, but I only root for MSU basketball when they play Kentucky. If you lived in this godforsaken place you would understand why I have to root for MSU, even though it pains me. When they win, I give MSU a free ride, but if they lose, I give them doube the shit.
