Sorry for the bland thread, but I'm in the middle of downloading music and porn so I really don't have time to look for pictures. I'll pretty it up later tonight/tomorrow morning, or if anyone wants, they can pretty it up themselves.

As for the game, it should be a good one. Cleveland is a very underrated team that seems to be hungry(well, at least LeBron is). They'll use this game as a possible measuring stick to see where they're at.

I think it'll be close but Detroit will pull it out 125-79.

GO LONGHORNS!

eeeeerrrrrrrr

GO PISTONS!

Anyone else find this mildly amusing?

And of the Cavs dancers, I'd screw both black girls on the squad. DAMN SON.

There are four black girls on that squad by my count (looking at the calendar cover, which appears to have different chicks on it). I'll take the Asian on the right who looks like she could whip my ass.

Notice how they make the flattest chick face forward?

Ok, not to disrupt a game thread here, but I'm going to talk about the game for a minute.

Personally, I think this game will be a bigger test than the Heat game. Why? Cleveland is in our division, has a better winning % than Miami, it's on the road, they've had fewer disruptions this season, and they're young and hungry to prove something. Plus, after big games with San Antonio and Miami, this would be the game the team is burnt out if it's going to happen. Besides, this would be the game that puts us on pace for greater than 72 wins with a victory.

Thank the lord for a day game. I would've been extremely bored otherwise. So far, today's working out well, hopefully it stays with that pattern... And hopefully we can contain LeBron.

Cleveland is manhandling the Pistons right now 50-68. I think all the games the last couple days have taken their toll physically on Detroit.

perhaps you are right. they should be a bit rested though. no back to backs for a while. they had yesterday off.

perhaps we can call a night like this the utah syndrome. no matter how open we are or how great the scheme/play is, the shot just will not fall.

18 down with 1:30 left. the game is not over, but there is a long road ahead

RIP HITS IT.

just string a few baskets together. play some defense.

well that could verywell be it. these games happen to the best teams all the time.

we'll just win 8 or 9 more in a row after this.

I totally forgot that there was a game today. For some reason I kept thinking it was on Sunday.

Atleast this was a good game to miss considering we getting our asses kicked.

the pistons need a new strategy against the cavs.

They gotta play big, put ben against lebron and put sheed and dice on the floor too. Ben can man up lebron better then anyone else in the league, and we have the bigs to not really even give them a mismatch.

Yeah. That was the Utah syndrome.

Biochemical Equation

Yeah. That was the Utah syndrome.

wasnt the utah syndrome attributed to 'too much air in the ball'. that seems a bit far fetched to me.

Bottom line is, these games happen. Especially on the road against above average teams during the holiday season on a saturday afternoon.

Matt

offensively, against a team like the Cavs, we should be pounding the ball in the post to guys like Dice and Sheed.

Aside from Z, the Cavs have a tiny front line.

we're leading the NBA in 3PT%, but i really dont' like how we shot so many 3's vs a small team like the Cavs.

I just meant we couldn't hit any shots. Must have been something to do with being on the wrong side of the lake.

I don't like how many 3's we shot in general. It's making us more perimeter oriented and also taking Prince and Sheed out of position for rebounds.

reguardless of how great dice and sheed are in the post, the strength of our team is its shooters (rip, chauncy, and to a lesser extent, prince and sheed). We would be smart to exploit our post presence more often, but we live and die on the shots our backcourt takes.

just so happens they are exceptional shooters.

A tough loss that doesn't mean too much, but the Pistons have been relying way too much on the outside shot as of late. Its okay since we have been shooting great and bailing ourselves out with 3s, but the only real pieces this team needs are a true legit post up player. I don't think Darko will be enough to get one, and we don't have minutes for that big guy to play anyway. A defensive 3 would be nice, or a PG that has Arroyo's offense and Hunters defense, but none of those are really available.

even if our team's strengths are our backcourt (which i agree), we'd be much better off if we can recognize when our outside shots aren't falling and start pounding the ball in the paint sooner.

it seemed we were building a little momentum with our post play and when the Cavs responded w/ a great play we kept jacking up three's.

one regular season game isn't a big deal, but i think the bigger picture is if we meet in the playoffs.

all that aside, i think our defense was a little more worrisome today.

You know, if ever thee was a time for the McWallace line, today was it. Everytime Ben would switch onto James it would cause a missmatch, and james would miss or give it up. Problem was, there was no1 else to cover Big Z. I would have loved to see what Wallace Wallace and Dyess could have done.

from a general standpoint, the wetdream lineup you speak of, that we all dream of, will never happen. KG is athletic enough to play the 3, and he never saw action with two other bigmen while Flip was in Minny. We have that same sort of potential with three athletic big men.

Only time i could see it happen is with a 2-3 zone, and we have played like 30 seconds of zone.

the way to beat the cavs is make lebron james shoot, and dont let damon jones/donyell marshall get those open 3's. everytime we'd start to creep within 12 or 10 points, james would drive and dish to an open marshall for an open 3.

we're fine. cant wait to see what this team looks like in March. A work in progress.

I already said that Dice is not on the blocks enough. He is too good down there to be settling for 18-20 footers. Sheed is who he is and if they could ever keep him down on the blocks for more than two possesions in a row, it will be the first time.

Our starting 1-3 went 11 of 40, 28% shooting. Theirs went 20 of 38, 53% shooting. Hard to win any game when your guards are SF are that flat while the other team is torching the net.
