These nine, in no particular order, are my favorite nine. No one, not even Jesus, has a better favorite nine than these:

That Robinhood Disney cartoon
Million Dollar Baby
Wonderboys
Batman Begins
Ordinary People (everybody gets to like at least one depressing movie)
Commando (one of the greatest films of our time, of any time)
Grosse Point Blank
On the Waterfront
Rudy

This year's totally overrated movies:
Garden State (Okay, this one might have been from 2004, but I can't resist... maybe if Portman got nude, this pseudo-intellectual shart would have been watchable)

March of the Penguins: Blown out of the water by its antithesis, Grizzly Man.

Chronicles of Narnia: I would rather watch Dances with Wolves on continous loop for a month than watch another minute of this piece of shit.

Your just too much of a bitch to admit that you'd like the movie if you sat down and watched it.

Time to offer up a little culture.

All Quiet on the Western Fron (Lewis Milestone 1930)
Dumbo (Disney 1940) Best Disney animated film ever, and a good "film", period.
Best Years of Our Lives (William Wyler 1946)
Anything by Elia Kazan, but America America (1963) is my personal favorite
Dr. Strangelove (Stanley Kubrick 1964)
A Shot in the Dark (Blake Edwards 1964)
Apocalypse Now (Coppola 1979)
The Birds (Alfred Hitchcock 1963) My favorite Hitchcock film.
Holy Grail (Terry Gilliam/ Terry Jones 1975)
Raiders of the Lost Ark (Speilberg 1980)
Das Boot (Wolfgang Peterson 1981)
Ghostbusters (Ivan Reitman 1984). Best comedy ever.
Better Off Dead (Savage Steve Holland 1985). Best John Cusack film.
The Commitments (Alan Parker 1991). Best music flick, better than Spinal Tap.
Silence of the Lambs (Jonathan Demme 1991)
L.A. Confidential (Curtis Hanson 1997) Shoulda beaten fucking Titanic.
Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (Ang Lee 2000)
Collateral (Michael Mann 2004) with Manhunter a close second.

Gotta go. I'll think of more later.

Apocalypse Now (Coppola 1979): this one should actually go on the overrated list, as it falls short of "Heart of Darkness" and Platoon.

Das Boot (Wolfgang Peterson 1981): a movie about a piece of footware. Sweet. Sign me up.

The rest of the movies, by sheer luck I suspect, managed to be excellent selections.

Oh you're kidding. Das Boot has THE best ending in film history, and Apocalypse Now.....ehm... well, I suppose you can skip to the Dennis Hopper parts.

Interesting selections, especially how you grouped the Godfather film in with the rest.

Yes, I would definitely say that Al Pacino, Mike Myers, and Leslie Nielson are on par with each other.

'The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly' can be my tenth. Awesome flick, great build-up, high tension. Plus, it's like 7 hours long, so you've got your whole day taken care of.

The Maltese Falcon can suck my left nut.

Best Bogart film, by far is The Treasure of Sierra Madre. Dudes fucking psycho in it. Also The Big Sleep, when Lauren Bacall was still pretty hot.

Where the fuck is Better Off Dead in any of these lists??? Am I the only one who knows it exists?
