I'd deactivate Darko because he plays like he doesn't care. If I were Flip, I would tell him now that he isn't playing hard enough to stay on the active roster and if he wants to than he better show it. If Darko shows it, than I pick DD.

It's unfair, but they'll probably just tell him "tough luck, rook", maybe not in those terms, but I really don't think that Joe D will let Flip bump Darko.

I know that it seems like no big deal given the new CBA rules for bing active or not but it could cause a stir in the locker room.

Dale Davis would be pist IMO he wants to contribute not get a token ring. Maxiell works hard everytime he gets out there it would send him the wrong message. Delfino is playing better therefore it could cause him to regress. Arroyo is playing well enough that it would be a slap in the face.

Therefore Darko is the most logical because of attitude and lack of production, but Joe won't because it would become the point of no return for Darko with the team. So I think Joe is going to make a 2 for 1 deal soon leaving only Acker and Johnson on the inactive list.

it would be the coolest if the powers that be censored the use of the word darko and all its variables for a month. or make it pop up voldemort style as "he whose name we do not say"

I was at practice today and Lindsey was looking great. He was cutting and moving very well. He was taking it to Arroyo big time during the scrimmage...hitting his jumpers and playing the normal Hunter defense.

Flip said it should be 10 - 14 days until he comes back...

I do not know what the roster situation is going to be when he does come back. It would make the most sense to sit Darko or Maxiell however Maxiell looks like he ACTUALLY wants to play and seems to be a better player anyways...

Is there any truth to the 1270 infinity rumors? What I mean is infinity is looking to sell WXYT, or if they chose to keep 1270 that a format change is upcoming.

I heard that infinity is scrambling to find options to stay a float and generate enough advertisers to keep them out of the red for the next year and beyond because of Howard Stern's cash cow leaving the airwaves.

One option I have heard is they may condense 1270 and Live 97.1's on air personel (who have contrcts that don't expire soon) into one station FM or AM then sell off the other .

I have heard they are looking at lineup along the lines of 6-10am D and D or Howard's replacement from 97.1, Inferno 10-2 from 1270, 2-6 a new show or DD and 6-10 Sports Programming (games specialty sports talk and/or Parker and the Man).

Don't shoot the messenger I heard this from a person who works for ABC radio.

As far as getting into Piston Practice...I work for 1270 so that is how I get in and why you guys cant...lol. However if there is ever anything you want to know or something you would like to to find out..I have no problem doing my best to find anything out for you guys...


Next about 1270. There are rumors galore about stuff however from what I know the station is not going anywhere. We just beat DFN at every timeslot THIS TREND. when the offical book comes out then we might be able to talk some more.

I do not know a lot about 97.1, So I really wouldnt be able to comment on that. I do know that just about everyones contract is up at the end of january (as far as air talent) on our station so if something were to happen I would assume it would be then.

I intern for 97.1 and i'd definitely say that some changes are likely to happen. 97.1 isn't really a shock talk station anymore and once stern is gone they are going to need something. Sports would be the logical step but i haven't given much thought.

HUNTER TIME: Pistons backup guard Lindsey Hunter is nearly ready to come back form his early season ankle surgery. His tentative date of return is set for sometime in the middle of January.

Hunter has participated in three-on-three drills during practice for more than a week, and soon should join the five-on-five work.

Then, as soon as Saunders feels Hunter understands the new offense, Hunter can return to the Pistons active lineup.

"I think right now he's more physically ready than he is mentally ready," Saunders said. "Just from a standpoint of understanding what we're doing, how we're playing, what we're trying to do."

But the team will be happy to have Hunter back, especially for his defensive presence. He is the Pistons' best perimeter defender.

It's definitely going to be Maxiell, if everyone else is healthy. I think they might send Acker to the D-League once Lindsay comes back too.

Yea, the real question is who SHOULD be deactivated, and thats Darko, but I have a hard holding out hope for Maxiell.

Maxiell deserves it, but it would be another "slap in the face" issue like with the playoffs last year.

My guess is that they'll rotate it around between Maxiell, Davis and Darko who are all equally likely candidates since they don't necessarily play on any given night. Barring injury I don't expect Evans, Delfino or Arroyo to see the inactive list at any point.
