Keeping with the yearly tradition, my fiance's family invited me for Curling in Windsor again ths year. So here's what I took away from the experience:

1.) If you never tire of watching your friends slip on ice and fall on their asses...then this is the activity for you.
2.) Holy shit! It's way harder than it looks on TV.
3.) At $10.00 for 2 hours, it's cheaper than bowling in The States.
4.) Did I mention the slipping on the ice part?

Damn....it was really hard. What made matters worse is that there were actual curling teams in the building that were getting quite a high level of entertainment at our expense. I will, however, say that the staff at the curling rink was super helpful and about as friendly as you could get. Gotta love those Canadiens.

Also most curling rinks are multi pad surfaces with an upstairs bar overlooking the rink
so while some of your friends are playing their match you are upstairs getting drunk and watching them fall on their asses

its the 3rd best use for ice i've ever seen....

Yes, yes...that's how it was where we went. We're actually planning another trip for the 11th of March. I need to see if I can actually get some curling shoes. If you don't have any they tape your left (or right, depending on which hand you are) shoe and it really kinda sucks.

There is really only one key thing to remember about curling: BALANCE.

Balance in a drinking enviroment.........leave it to canadians to create a hard sport out of throwing rocks
