In a now annual move designed for Anthony George to photo shop them on someone else's bodies, WTFDetroit player-coach Tommie De Riemaecker has unveiled the team's 2005-06 uniforms at a press conference on the floor.

Here's a sampling.

The fact you went with WTF makes you great, Grizz. So you decided to have mine and Crotty's jersey as the models, but where is yours, Grizz?

I simply remembered the way Anthony photoshopped them last year, and chose to keep the great #11 off a picture of a random high school kid.

too bad you didn't jettison the dead weight when I was there. Instead my rec league record is 0-11. lol

At least I can hang my hat on the fact that I was one of the most efficiant players on the team. Not the best player, but definately the most efficient.

WTFChris, what was your PER?

WTFchris
12-27-2005, 10:53 AM
ask Hollinger. He probably has it.

Grizz probably has our stats. Trouble is we kept our own stats (which you can easily miss an assist or two).

Mine was probably something like this:

20 MPG, .560 FG%, 4.5 RPG, 2.5 APG, 1.3 BPG, 1 SPG, 0.8 TO, 6 PPG

I played SF the first couple games, then switched to PG.

I found the formula finally:

All calculations begin with what is called unadjusted PER (uPER). The formula is:
http://en.wikipedia.org/math/4/7/0/4706604464b973bebda830a8dd22fca8.png
Where
http://en.wikipedia.org/math/f/d/1/fd17c8e20d91b21a28c4c65e6f14539c.png
http://en.wikipedia.org/math/a/6/1/a619d84292eca0a7d6e8f09921aa557a.png
http://en.wikipedia.org/math/e/a/c/eac31deb489bf1a986851b9217168f5d.png
Once uPER is calculated, it must be adjusted for team pace and normalized to the league to become PER:
http://en.wikipedia.org/math/8/6/1/8611601f29df12d15edd0284bedfcadd.png
This final step takes away the advantage held by players whose teams play a fastbreak style (and therefore have more possessions and more opportunities to do things on offense), and then sets the league average to 15.00.

Also note that it is impossible to calculate PER (at least in the conventional manner described above) for NBA seasons prior to 1978, as the league did not keep track of turnovers before that year.

Considering no other team kept stats, it wouldn't work.

Not to mention Hollinger is an idiot and his stats are too.

I'm telling you Chris, WTFHollinger would be the best name ever..........

And that's a damn good PER. It's too bad the rec league doesn't have an all-star team... or an asshole like Hollinger to explain everyone's PER.

Haha, I wouldn't even be close. I was probably the 3rd or 4th best player on the team, although 2 of the best seemed to suffer from the fatione walker syndrome. I liken myself more as a Battier/Prince type of player. Dependable, hard working, consistant, solid player. Grizz had too many players on the roster though (mostly because people were unreliable and one game we had no subs at all) so everyone only played half the game. our leading scorers were 8.6 and 8 (grizz) PPG I think.

Those can't be accurate. The worst shooting night I had was maybe 1 for 4. There's no way my FG% is that low. Most nights I went 2 for 3 or 3 for 4. Plus I never had 3 TO's in a game, let alone every game. Your scoring person on the bench just automatically gives the TO to the passer, even if idiot Detroit Don 15 has clubs for hands and drops the pass. The rest seems about right though. If that FG% is right, it's pretty lowsy (although the rest of our team shot just as bad). But those are pretty good rebound numbers for a PG, especially when I outrebounded the rest of the team in 2-3 games.

Do you have the team stats for that first year Grizz? I'm curious how the rest of the team did that year.

I honestly don't know what the fuck came over me. One game was 27, 13 and 3 blocks and the other was 39, 8 and 4 blocks.

holy smokes. You still have the Knob? That guy would foul out in 5 minutes of play and complain about it the whole night. To his credit, he gave effort. He's just a very very very poor man's Bo Outlaw.

Yeah, we're pretty good these days, mostly thanks to Motown and his buddy. But we had some real solid pickups this year, definitely upgrading all over again.

The only vets left are me, greg and Knob.

Holy Crap that league was awesome. Nothing like driving over an hour to get pissed off that no one would listen to eachother. God I miss those days.

Chris, you are no Battier or Prince my friend. You are more Ridnour/Hinrich to me.

I myself attest that I was a Collison/Madsen/Knight player. At least Im honest.

Collison is a good one for you. When used properly, you are Vlade like. It's too bad there were a few that were so stinky we couldn't do much.

BTW, when are you going to move back to this area so I can start a new team with you?

After I saw them online I was worried that they looked wack, but shit...they're FIYAH!!!!

MoTown's a very good player. Grizz got alot better.
Donnie's a good defender. Greg's dangerous to play against.

I'm still injured.

Nobody invited me, so how can I be chicken shit? lol

I didn't want to play the second year (probably the year before this) is because I was getting married and didn't have much spare time to commit, there were some people that turned the ball over every 5 seconds and wouldn't let me do my job properly as a PG, and we had too many people and I only played 15-20 minutes a game (and frequently got pulled from that time even). I had fun with Grizz, Mola, D'snuts and a few other guys. I guess a few bad apples ruined the bunch for me. I was just used to going out there, giving it my all, having fun, and not worrying about anything but winning. Instead we had 9-10 players (because people wouldn't show up each night) and people had to sit. Having just drove an hour to play (some more than me too), you can see where that would wear on you.

I'm glad to hear it's turned around though.
